I'm moonlighting...

A good friend of ours manages a church owned campground and their big yearly camp meeting is starting today. My husband has a security background as well as a truck with a light-bar so he helps out every year by patrolling the campground (it’s big!) on the weekends. A couple of weeks ago our friend was telling my husband that they needed more bike patrol units, so guess who got volunteered.

I’m expecting it will be fun. There’s usually not a whole lot of bad stuff that happens at these camp meetings (it’s church folk after all). Mainly lost kid calls and dealing with parking issues, but every now and then there will be a little tussle or something gets stolen. I’m most looking forward to the veggie burgers they have there though. I’m as much of a meat eater as anyone else, but dang if there isn’t something about these veggie burgers.

Anyways, that’s my side job for the next couple of weekends. [cartman]Respect my authority![/cartman]

Enjoy those veggie burgers, I too secretly enjoy many of the meat-free products. Meat free corn dogs are amazing.

Have fun with your new found authoratah!

Don't forget your mirror shades and night stick.

Actually what I prefer to use is one of those 4-6 D cell Maglites. Shine the light in their eyes then while they're temporarily blinded show 'em the real business end of the flashlight.

I rode 25 miles this weekend around the campground, up and down hills, over rough ground, dodging people, etc. and I am WIPED OUT. lol I think every mile on a heavy mountain bike on a trail is = six miles on a smooth road with a road bike. I went on a 18 mile ride with my husband yesterday and while I could still push on the flats, my legs were just dead on the few small hills we did. Obviously it was a great workout. Looking forward to doing it again next Saturday.
