Hey Mr. Beanz! You'd love this one.
Miles 35 through 55.5 of the upcoming SiR 300k

4090' of climbing in 24.5 miles, and there's still 130 miles left when you're done with it. :D

Great scenic ride, but doesn't the road get kind of hairy near the end and is it paved all the way now, seems to me one of the roads up to Baker wasn't paved.

The 130 after the climb seems tough. But if it's not too hilly after the climb, sounds doable. The training course I ride is near 5000 in 20 miles. If I'm training, I'll turn around after the descent and do it again. So if I were allowed to recover before anothe big climb, I think I could complete it. Sounds tough though!:D

Done 12000 in first 75 miles during a 114 mile century called Breathless Agony. 170 miles? Sounds tough but like I said, depending on the climbing after the initial climb.

I'm trying to decide on a plan for next year. California Triple Crown (3 doubles in one year), or King of the Mtns series (3 centuries 10,000ft each). Major plan is to keep the weight down. 225 this morning!:thumb:

BTW, are you trying to kill me?:D

Triple Crown is a good series. Doesn't it have to be from a selected set of doubles and under a specific time limit each?

Next year I'll have 3 doubles via the rando series up here. I'm planning on the spring Super Rando series (200, 300, 400 and 600k) and then the summer/fall series up to 400k. So two 400s and a 600 will give me my 3 doubles. Heck, the 600 is almost a double double all by itself.

The 130 after the climb may sound tough, but the key with randonneuring is that you're not required to finish quickly. Most doubles I've seen start sweeping the course at 16 hours. A 300k is (minimum) 187 miles and you've got 20 hours to finish.

Yup, 3 selected doubles but not sure about the time limits. I don't think I'd have a problem though. I know a few Triple Crown riders!:D
