Hey Socalrider, or other interested local Climing Clydes

I pm'd you but no 'yes or no' response. Didn't want you to miss this chance. Any of you local clydes out there are invited too!

There will be a few of us on GMR Saturday, roll time 7 am. Some good riders from the trail. Leaky Fountain Boyz, Alex, JustMe and a few others. All strong on the trail but we all know that GMR is a different animal and none of them have been up there yet. So it's something new for them. Lenny is a small fast guy and does MTB'in so he may be good on the climb. Rick OCR should be there too, maybe a few of the Rebels. Dutchboy2 also from Upland will be there too. He may start late but the guy WILL catch us! Great rider and Great guy! Some of the guys will have lunch at teh lodge. Me, I eat a Clifbar. Apple pie ala mode doesn't agree with me on rides!

We won't have toworry about water as Gina has agreed to carry some fluids and act as support incase I need a ride up the hill

Thought you might want to join us. None of us have raced, mostly rec riders. Might give you a chance to meet some cool people. Not me, the others! .......I'll be riding my heavy bike on heavy tires so I know I won't keep up with you racer types! I'll be riding to make it!

7 am roll time
Bouldersprings (base of GMR)

Buds ride? Can you keep up with them guys? They are F-A-S-T!..I tired it a few years ago when I was in shape (fer me). I got dropped on the hill near the horses. They stood up and BAM! They were gone!

I cut across the dam caught back on then got dropped again on the hill. Hills and all, those guys average about 24 mph!

Rigo (sp?) was a young guy and kicked butt on the ride. He showed up to an Incycle training ride and lapped the others and laughing while he was at it!

Then I watched him race in an Ontario crit, he got punished bigtime by other riders. Geeze there are some F-A-S-T riders out there.

If you can keep up with these guys, SHEESH!

I think you mean Glendora Mtn Rd? All the way to Baldy Village? I have made it only partway up that thing when I lived there. I've been in Orange County too long.

Yup 'GMR', Glendora (G) Mtn (M) Rd. (R).......The first 8 mile climb 2200ft is actually GMR, The next 13 miles after the fork is 'GRR' Glendora (G) Ridge (R) Rd.(R) that heads to Baldy Village.

Total climbing is about 5,000 ft. Most of it on the way up, 21 mile climb.

See you out there!

yes Buds is on Wednesdays, meets at the Starbucks in Downtown Claremont, corner of 2nd and Yale..

Rigo is a very good rider, he is much better at Road Races than Criteriums.. He and brother Miguel have been racing for many years, both good guys.. I remember when Rigo was 12-13 years old and doing the Bud's ride, it was amazing how fast he was at such a young age..
