Uber-Clyde new personal best!

After having my rebuilt wheel tuned up then having a short ride on Friday with my wife and son I had a new personal best. 15.10 miles today. YES! Hopefully this progress will continue and I can be to 20 by the end of September.

Outstanding. May you continue to set new milestones for yourself! It feels good, doesn't it?

It was a two hour ride and I was exhausted after finished but yes, I feel good.

You are an inspiration to me. We are at about the same speed but I have yet to go over 10mi. Keep up the good work!

What's keeping you from breaking the ten mile glass ceiling, Kate?

I was very slow in the beginning. I pushed several times and didn't really get anywhere. I've been riding since April 1st and its taken me over four months to get here. I stayed at the 5 mile range for a while then began pushing. I'm hoping to keep this distance off and on through this month. Next month's goal is to hit 20. If I can do that I plan on going to the Silver Comet Trail here in Georgia and see what I can do. It's an old train track trail. Rail to trails program. It's fairly flat so hopefully by that point I can really do some riding.

Congrats, I started of at 5 miles every time out and am now up to 20 ... pace yourself and you'll be better in the long run imo. I 've been riding for nearly 2 months now and was dead set on avoiding the scale but I hopped on one today and , much to my surprise I've lost 25 lbs. I always think it's great if I find someone riding a tad faster than me that can kind of set my pace, I generally hope I can find a target I can keep up with or lap to inspire me a bit, I meanno harm. That said I was wondering if I was in the wrong yesterday.. I ran into a guy who was doing about the same speed as me , I could have passed him but probably wouldn't have ben able to sustain the speed to make it worth my while so I drafted him a bit from about 25 feet back. I kind of sensed some displeasure from this but didn't know if I was in the wrong or not. On one hand if I pass him and can't sustain my speed I look like a jerk but on the other hand I couldnt go any slower without taking a long break.. did I do the right thing?
