Vain, But Lacking Talent

Howdy, big Texan here.
Nice, a forum dedicated to the heavy-weights. 
For perspective, my heaviest weight was in high school at about 235 pounds. I then got into bikes in college and got down to 175 pounds. How the hell I ever weighed that little, I'm not sure. Fast forward a few years later and I've since been married and quit riding bicycles. I managed to hit 225 and become disgusted with myself. I traded the old school steel frame Specialized with downtube Shimano 105 shifters for a more modern aluminum entry level rig and I'm whittling it down. I'm currently at 218 and hope to, at one point, be kicked out of the Clydesdale club.
At any rate, I'll be excited to read and find tips on gear for us tall fella's. I am 6'2" and won't be reducing that any time soon.

Howdy almost neighbor. I'm in the county next door over in Wylie I think fellow member EvBlazer is in Flower Mound but he is off the bike and the DL right now.

Don't I know it.... 
I "graduated" out of the Clydes last fall, yet here I am at 215 (and also 6'-2").
Anyway, welcome Walks... I like the name. If you want to come down to Fort Worth and ride the Trinity Trails, it's definitely worth it.

Exactly. No beans in real chili.
Thanks for all the kinds welcomes. I actually got the name from an old roommate (who was also my best man at my wedding). I've been a motorcyclist for over 6 years now and he said it was my Indian name. Of course we're both whiteboys from Texas, so I had to give him one as well. He did a lot of music in his freetime, messing about with his keyboard, so I called him Sings With Ten Fingers. Yeah, we were bored in college...
Anyhow, I thought it fit here rather well.
And man, am I ever stuck at 218 right now. I've been pounding out miles and watching what I eat and it just won't budge. I was hoping to be closer to 200 by my birthday on Sept. 12, but I'd have to starve myself to do it. Oh well.
To all you Texas folks, thanks for the ride tips. I have thought about checking out Trinity trails as my mother in law (both in-laws do a bit of cycling) told me about it. Right now I just ride up and down 428 out of Denton to Argyle and back.
