How Many Centuries have you Clydes/Athenas Done?

Just wondering after reading Barrett's claim to 4th 110 miler for the summer.

I did 23 in the year 2005. 5 before that, and about 5 since. I say over 30 fer me.

Gina's got 4 centuries on the tandem!...4-72 milers and an 84 on her single bike.

She's got some catching up to do!

I did one so far, a couple weeks ago. Of course I cheat (metric - 100K=62 mi. & more importantly 118.7Kg.=261 lbs. - I love metric).

One imperial century and .....er does it count as a metric century while you do an imperial century? Yeah, sure I did both in one day. Yeah that's the ticket.

In my previous cycling life, more than I ever cared to keep track of. In my present incarnation of a cyclist I have yet to attempt it.

3 so far this year, it is way to hot in the summer to ride during the afternoon in Miami. I am doing a 120 mile ride in sept. in CO. That should be a spectacular ride.

Riding from downtown Ft. Collins up to Trailridge, 7000ft of climbing tops out at 12,500 ft. Best part is that it will be the day after climbing Mt Evans 22 miles with 8000 ft of vertical, tops out at 14,000 ft. The two highest paved roads in the U.S.

Next year I will do two that I know of but next year is all about speed this winter will be dedicated to getting to 185lbs so I can go out and not die when riding with our local master cat1 group man they will kill a guy.

2 Imperials, both this year, and losing track of metrics. I have one other possible Imperial that I might do, but most likely settle for another metric.

Got one done in June @ the TDC Indy. Don't think I'll do another this year. Just not my thing. I find 40 - 60 milers more to my liking.

I've done 4, longest being a 211k brevet. All within the last year.

21 centuries so far this year. 24 last year. Most of these were not done when I actually weighed >200 pounds. So I don't know if they count...

0. My longest ride is 28 miles. But I want to work towards a 100 mile day.

Also, is that how centuries count? 100 miles in a day? Doesn't have to be non-stop other than potty breaks, right?

None this year, I will do some roller centuries this winter. My wife thinks I am nuts, but I think she already knew that.

I've done six rides this year in the 63 to 95 mile range and three rides in the 110 to 120 mile range. My fourth long ride, a 126 miler, is coming up tomorrow.

You've got some catching up to do .

Cheers,

Michael

I've got 8 this year, after completing a 200k brevet yesterday. I'm working on what Randos call the R12, which is at least 1 200k a month for 12 months straight. Yesterday was month 11! I started in October of last year.

It's been really hard to complete them in the Texas summer. Yesterday I started at 5am, but didn't finish until just after 5pm. It always amazes me how hard it is to go from 100 miles, to 200k. That extra 25 or 30 miles is a killer after already doing 100 miles.

Since 2004 I've done 3 triple centuries, 28 double centuries and 42 centuries. No wonder I'm always having to do maintainance on my bike.

Just be happy that you don't live in Washington. You would have to buy a new bike every 6 months!

It's 100 in a day. You can have potty breaks, lunch breaks, stretch the legs breaks, doesn't matter.
