My trip to the River Trail, North Little Rock, AR (pics)

The Big Dam Bridge is the largest pedestrian bridge in the nation. The River Trail forms a loop between Little Rock on the south side of the Arkansas River and North Little Rock on the north side. You cross the Big Dam Bridge on one end and a bridge downtown.

This shot is from the North Little Rock side looking at the bridge.

This is a shot looking toward the NLR side at the apex of the bridge.

This is one of the views looking west on top of the bridge. Interstate I-430 in the foreground and the Pinnacle Mountain area in the background. There are plans to expand the River Trail all the way to the Pinnacle Mountain area accessing it from the Little Rock side of the bridge.

One of the wooden bridges on the River Trail on the North Little Rock side.

One of the views of the Little Rock skyline as you come east toward the city on the River Trail.

The River Trail connects to the North Little Rock Riverwalk trail. From here you cross a downtown bridge to connect to the River Trail on the Little Rock side and head back to the Big Dam Bridge.

Great pictures!!! Do you know the miles available on the trails from the area? I am just curious on what is available. It loooks like you have some amazing trails that are well kept and also some great views.

The wife is planning on travel nursing in a few years, so we wanted to start keeping information on the locations we would like to visit for three months and decide on a final spot in the southern states. I love the northern states, just not from Decemeber through usually March.
