OK... my Dr. said no more riding until...

...we figure out what is up with my shoulder...

this is a bummer man!

standing on scales at 265lbs down from 300lbs I don't want to stop...

I even hit 260lbs... but there is a good side to this tale...

www.physiquetransformation.com I am not advertising for them I simply have done the program before and it works amazingly well... turns the old metabolism into a furnace!!! and targets F A T!!!

I started my program today, with a surprise... body fat is down to 24% from probably 30%+ (thank God I am 6'6" or I'd look like the Pilsbury Dough Boy) @ 24% I have 63lbs that can go away... almost to my target of 200lbs...

I will be adding to this thread as I go along with my transformation...

I will be adding weights for the first portion known as 'conditioning' (caloric intake is slowly ramped up) with NO CARDIO until fat burn (fat and sugar are cycled to target fat) ... then I am going to join the local spinning class...

stay tuned it ought to be an intersting 4 months...

PS... i have done this before with amazing results 65lbs lost last time, NO EXERCISE... I'll add pictures as it becomes necessary!

Your shoulder is screwed up and you're stopping bike riding so you can lift weights? Bad, bad idea.

Walking is good, too, when one cannot ride. Anything that keeps one moving, and keeps metabolism working. Hope your shoulder issues work out well, and you're back riding soon!

Concur with the walking. Or running.

You can still lose weight without any real hardcore exercise if you count calories.

I feel that keeping tabs on caloric intake is more important than the exercising, when we're talking about weight loss.

What about a trainer, you can then keep your legs fresh, do some heavy caloric burn, and almost no chance of re-injuring the shoulder. Heck you can ride no hands for hours on end that way.

The weight loss equation is pretty simple....calories consumed vs. calories burned. Exercise in an important part when considering the calorie burning side. Additionally, many health benefits are achieved with regular exercise.

when I do Physique Transformation I will be consuming somewhere in the 3000-3500 calories per day...

since I can opt to do no exercise I won't be burning any in that fashion... my metabolism will be tricked and fat will be burned simply by removing fat and sugar... works like a dream.

yet I will still lose the weight (I have done it before) last time I had shoulder surgery I lost 65lbs and never even walked let alone got out of my chair... and I lost 65lbs... so the equation "calories consumed vs. calories burned" simply holds no truth.

I can only suggest going to their website and reading "Secrets of a Professional Dieter" how you look is 80% eating and mearly 20% exercise...

I completely agree that building muscle helps to burn more calories. Didn't you have to get out of the chair to build muscle?

From a brief review the "Physique Transformation Program" does incorporate exercise.

Also, there are points about cutting calories and increasing metabolic activity (which exercise does) throughout the FAQs on the site you mention. Back to that simple equation.

I hope the process works for you and the shoulder recovery is speedy. All the best.

OK my initial week is done here is what I get to eat everyday for the first week...

Nutrient DV*

Calories 3222

Calories from Fat 644

Total Fat 72 g

Total Carbs 516 g

Sugars 103 g

Protein 129 g

Sodium 1500 mg

Protein/Carbs/Fat Ratio 16/64/20

it doesn't tell me what to eat just the amount of nutrients...

week 1 is 3222 calories per day... I have 5 weeks of conditioning and I will be at or near 3,700 calories per day go hungry? I think not!

should have... Dr. ordered me to none no walking etc...

the program is fooling the bodies natural starvation mode by feeding it to avoid storing body fat...

how you look is 80% based on what you eat... I'll hit the ground next spring (hopefully) at 200-210...

trust me on this as well I WILL be including strength and cardio this time around

stay tuned!!!

week one down...

I didn't get the greatest scores for the week...

but some initial measurements are showing another inch off the abdomen and waist... 2 or 3 pounds lost as well...

I'll do a proper weight in after today's road trip to get my Harley...

try a massage therapist

after seeing 6 different MDs, two MRIs, countless xrays the best the doctors could come up with was don't do anything that hurts. After about a hour at a massage therapist, my shoulders stopped clicking and felt good. It's definately worth a try.

OK update time...

last week I ate 3222 calories each day...

***edit

calories--------3222
total fat-----------72g
total carbs------516g
sugar------------103g
protein----------129g
sodium---------1500mg

the above was my guide line for nutritional information... notice it doesn't tell me what to eat only how much on a nutritional level...

***edit

calories----------3422
fat-------------------76g
carbs--------------513g
sugar--------------103g
protein------------171g
sodium-----------1500mg

this is this weeks nutritional requirements... 3422 calories a day!!! (it only goes up to 3722 per day)

OK I did a proper weigh in last night...

I lost another 5lbs... an inch off my waist and another inch from my abdomen... (but I am not riding any meaningful miles...)

body fat stayed at 24%, but remember I lost 5lbs and inches...

I love this program. stay tuned more to come!
