My Labor Day Vacation.........(PICS)

I had a great time over the Labor Day Weekend. Among other things, I bought a sailboat. I am now the owner or an M Class racing Scow. Wouldn't you know it.....the first day I had the boat, there was no wind, but Sunday made up for it and Monday really made up for it.

I also got in a couple rides around the lake on my fixed gear. Amazingly, I didn't have to walk any of the hills, either, although I did get pretty slow on a couple of them.

I wasn't far away, I was on Wawasee. I learned to sail on Maxincukee, though.

Aha! I figured it was either Wawasee or "the Max." My parents graduated from Culver High School. It's a small world.

Looks like a lot of fun.

You really reeally need a Jolly Roger!

I've had a couple of sailboats thruough out my Navy years. No better way to spend a day. A guy I work with is looking at building his own from a kit. It's nearly enough to make a guy want another one.

Twin leeboards and yes, it has a 270 ft sq spinnaker, but I couldn't fly it with a first time crew aboard. I have an aversion to either a death roll or a blown out spinnaker, if ya know what I mean. It's really fast on a downwind run will all the canvas up, though, that's for sure. You wind up on a really nice plane.
