Woo Hoo! I'm back!
Well....kinda.
I've finally stopped with the worst of the nagging cough (apres pneumonia) and rode more than my normal 3.5 mile round trip commute today.
I rode a whole 13 miles with the Black Friday Ride in Richardson (3 miles were traveling to/from the ride),
and while I felt good after the ride, am feeling, this evening, much as I would have after a 40 miler.
Whatever...It was still fun.
This, my friends, just will not do.
I just wish I didn't have to be so careful about pushing myself too quickly (already had one relapse...didn't care for the experience).
If the weather holds out maybe I'll be back to thirty miles or so in January 2010.
I feel like I lost so much ground this year...(whine, mewl, puke, etc.).
But, then again, 13 miles IS 13 miles and I should just be happy that I've hit double digits again.

Well Done Good Sir!
I've managed two double digit rides since rejoining the walking but it seems like it going to take some time to rebuild leg strength. I have the Centurion to finish out and in two or three weeks I'll have another project to unveil. This one could signal the end of the expanding bike inventory and may even result in a small shrinkage of in the "N".
These are my motivations

Ah, Yes, the "N" shrinkage.
I must admit that I will soon be deciding which "N"s must go.
Glad to see the you're, once more, amongst the pedaling.

The sad thing is one of the high end rides probably has to go. It's going to be a painful seperation unless I cave and wrap the frame sets up and store them.

I am finally getting over one month of bronchitis. I was stubborn and was still riding 4-5 days a week. Although not as hard all the time and I stopped running completely. I felt like a slug yesterday.
My wife picked up a part time job and between that and her school, and the kids, and my job, it is getting tough to get my riding in at 5-6 days. Oh, did I mention I was in a band too that practices twice a week. gaaaaah!!!

Welcome Back!
I did the Black Friday ride too and really had a good time. I'm getting back to riding after spending the last two months with the flu and working a lot of overtime. I did a twenty mile ride this morning and am feeling really good after it so I will get back into my winter training and will ride outdoors when weather permits. It felt good to be back in the saddle again.....................

Did another 10 miles today on the trek 700 acquired several weeks ago off CL for $120.
Had to stop at the bike shop for replacement crank bolts (the left kept working itself loose...so I replaced them both)
I'm liking the 700X38 tires (nice change) but, if I wind up keeping it, I'll have to find some fenders to make it my foul weather commuter.

Welcome back, good to meet you and Joe Bicycle out at the ride. I've really been enjoying this Thanksgiving break and the nice weather we've had, I'm sort of getting back on track for my mileage of the month, even!

I was the one in the blue road jersey on the blue and white Fuji Cross bike. I stayed near the front of the pack for most of the ride. I remember seeing you but didn't get to meet everyone. Now that I know what you look like I'll say hi the next time around.............

Once you see me, it's kind of hard to forget.

I think I'll stick to the first one...
Back when I had a trainer, he would load on more weight to bring the hurt, and the smile would get bigger.
Your body works more efficiently when smiling...everyone should try it sometime.
