Update on Wheels gone wrong!

I posted a couple weeks ago about my wheel dilemma and that my budget superseded all other options. I was able to replace my Alex DA-22 with a wheel set off of an Allez Elite(Mavic Cxp22 on Specialized forged hubs). I got the Wheels, Tires, Tubes and skewers for under $130.00. I got home on Saturday to mount the wheels and ride out when I couldn't get the rear skewer in place on the dropout(I think its called?). Anyway, it seems the hub has a spacer on it that is for the Allez but I dunno, i am praying the LBS can fix this so I can ride on it.....I was so excited! Pics to be posted in a few...Thanks for all the advice. I will be saving for my custom wheel set though!

Did you try unscrewing the nut end of the skewer? The side that does not have the clamp has very fine threads in the nut to allow for some fine adjustment.

Tried that and no joy. i called my best LBS(Bicycle Alley in OKC) and these guys really want to get this fixed for me. I am done with other LBS now. These guys were like "Get it up here so we can get you riding". It is really special to have an LBS team want to see me drop weight as much as me:love::love::love:...does that make sense?

Anyway, Off to the LBS, pics when I return.

Some skewers do not have adjustable nut ends aka CLIX type skewers. Good luck.

These guys went through my Bike, did alot of rear wheel work, tuned it up, installed my new stem and removed my rear safety handles on my brakes. It is truly a different bike to say the least.

I will take some nicer pics of the bike tonight. Thanks for all your help folks!

looks great nowyou can ride

For sure bbeck, I did 20 miles last night. The windchill was 23 degrees and made it pretty challenging. I love the setup though. The Mondo tires are seriously stiffer than the Zaffiro tires I had oin it before. Just feels like a faster, stronger bike...imo.
