Saturday's Urban Ride (with pics and a parking garage descent video)

Fanfreakintastic Riding Day!!!!!

Left the house about 6 am this morning to ride the town of Cape Girardeau. Tracey dropped me off about 6 miles short of the Mississippi River bridge to start. I have said it before and I will say it again. I hate riding on the flat! The first 6 miles of my 22 mile ride was flat like a pancake. I could see the bridge from the time I started until I crossed it six miles later. That in and of itself was depressing. But, once I hit the city of Cape Girardeau, it was (and I hope I get to say this for years to come) ONE OF THE BEST RIDES EVER! River Bridge, Strip Club, Hills, Parking Garages (and their elevator lobbies), Hills, River Front, Hills, University, and in case I forgot to mention it, HILLS!

A cold front came through last night and temps were in the low 50s and the air was crispy clean which made for good pictures.

Below is the link to all the pics and then some representative shots. There is a pic that I am not going to waste on my individuals, as you all saw the Strip Club a few weeks ago, but when I went past today, the marquee said "Mothers Day Bash". It made me laugh. That pic is in group. At the bottom of the individual shots is a short video of a small parking garage descent.

I love crossing this bridge.

An old Seminary that has been converted into a performing arts center. This pic is taken from the bridge .

From the top of 5 level parking garage.

This was taken in the elevator lobby that leads from the top of the parking garage onto another level of property. There was a security camera in the corner. Hope they don't mind (big grin).

If I had a Nickel for every one of these I have seen……I would have a Nickel.

Yours truly on the SEMO campus.

River Front Riding

For what it is worth, in my urban mountain biking form, I climbed the terraces of this old court house.

My Riding Partner

I know this is silly, but you have not ridden parking garages, you are missing some fun.
Parking Garages - The Mountains of the Urban Midwest. I managed 4 of these today.
