Amazing what you see when you are riding along minding your own business
 

Caleb and I were out today. It's a flat track and there are no intersections mostly underpasses. At a certain point the trail winds into farm land and I could hear music coming from a bunch of cars parked under an overpass. I figured that it was just the farmers blasting tunes to help releave the boredom. But as I got closer I saw 6 men set up with a generator, speakers midi sequencers, it looked like a permenent set up in the back of a cube van with custom side openings. They were under this major overpass like 8 lanes wide and playing the Sax over midi sequenced songs. Caleb and I stopped for a short listen and then we kept on. On the way out I saw a chinese food delivery scooter on the path. I didn't think anything of it but on the ride back there they were, munching away on Chinese take away, drinking soju (the local spirit) and beer. I stopped and had a listen again, and this time in my limiter Korean had a nice chat. They offered us food and drink (Had one drink cause it's really rude to refuse a drink in Korea, but passed on the food) Listened to them play, sang along with them. Apparently they get together under this overpass (and others like it) cause the accoustics are really good. That's one thing that I love about this country, the people are friendly and they don't have many hang-ups! Imagine trying to call for take away back home... Yeah, um I'd like 1 large pepperoni please, address? Well, 3rd underpass next to old John Smith's barley field... Hello, hello... Good times were had by all!

Very, very cool! Most people don't even notice this kind of thing when they're in a car at 40+ mph, let alone stop and enjoy it. Like Cyclist2000 said, it sounds like you've found a new ride - searching the underpasses until you find the live music.

Very nice. So where in Korea are you? I lived and rode in Korea for a few years, back in the day.

I'm south west of Seoul about 20Km. The city is called Bucheon. It is a satalite city of Seoul. Been in this area about 9 years now.

Yup, I can imagine! It's knoda the naive beauties here in Korea. Also... When you order take-out you get real disches here in Korea. The premins is that you let it outside your door and the delivery guy comes and collects it in about an hour or two. You don't even need to wash it. It's fantastic, people just let it outside, usually wrapped up an new paper and the next morning it's gone. No one steals it, breaks it or kicks the pile around the hall. It's great. I imagine if you did that back home you'd loose all your dishes withing a week. Or they'd all be broken. Yay, Korea!

Other than Canada, I have never been out of the US - would love to see some other cultures! had a chance once to drive "down under" on a year contract, but chickened out - oh well...
