Saturdays Ride

135.56 kilometers. Something like 85-86 miles. 85-90 degrees and sunny.

It took 128 ounces of gatoraid, 32 ounces of water (64 if you include what I used keeping my body cool), 10 applications of blistix, 4 applications of SPF70 sunscreen, one 6" Subway BMT, one bag of chips, two bananas, one tangelo, one baby clif bar and one kellogg's bar. I had 6.5 hours ride time and 8 hours total time. There were 70KM of tailwind in the beginning followed by 65KM of headwind.

But my what a gorgeous day.

Flat land...I am jealous! I live between two huge drumlins (hills left by glaciers) and the surrounding area isnt too flat. Not steep, but rolling.

Congrats, and I am slowly working my cycling mileage up...I think next time out is my 15ish mile loop I used to do all the time when I had a road bike. But my hybrid I feel safer and more comfortable on. Granted these are my weekday loops, weekends my girlfriend and I will go 22 miles or so together. This weekend will be no cycling, but lots of paddling in our tandem kayak My upper body needs a workout, too!

Beautiful area you have though. Looks like that around here, too. Lots of farmland and woods
