Rode the Single Speed "MTB" today...
I decided it would be a good idea to break in my single speed alone on the canal path today. I rode a total of 25 miles, making 60 total for the week (second highest since I have kept track). The canal path is pretty flat, some spots have hills, but most of the riding is pretty flat. The 34x18 gearing is perfect for me to keep an 11.5 MPH average speed, going through the one village slows me down, lots of traffic. I could spin out at about 18mph but only for maybe 1/4 mile before I got winded...
I think I am going to have to get a shorter/higher rise stem for it though. My shoulders are a bit sore from being that far bent over.
I feel awesome right now though, shoulders are sore (tylenol soon as I get off here) but the rest of me just feels great
