Lance and his Clyde sidekick

Just saw this in the Tour de France coverage today.

BTW, Lance is taking care of business.... he finished fourth in the Prologue, 22 seconds behind the leader.

Mammoth crash in the last kilometer involving most of the peleton. The course was completely blocked. The rule is that if you crash in the last 3k you earn the time of the people you were riding with. So the leaders hold their position from yesterday, and Lance remains 4th.

You know what's fascinating to me? Look at the team rankings right now. (Yes, I know it's early)

Team General Classification
  • 1. Team RadioShack (United States) in 16:00:19
  • 2. Team HTC-Columbia (United States)
  • 3. Garmin – Transitions (United States)
3 US teams in the first 3 places, but the fascinating thing to me is that there are THREE US TEAMS! Holy cats. Throw in Cervelo as another North American squad and it's really quite remarkable.
