Post your Garmin Connect (or similar) ride report

I noticed the Road Cycling forum had this thread but we didn't. I thought it would be interesting to learn about the places you guys ride. I'm always looking for new routes around my area.

I'll start it off with a link to my group ride last night.

I live in south Atlanta so this was in the Peachtree City/Fayette area. It was hot and miserable but fun at the same time. We had about 20 cyclists show up.

Love this idea. Here's my commute to work.

I think this is a great idea...now i just need to get a Garmin :-)

I don't have a Garmin, but I use MyTracks for my Android. Seems pretty accurate (aside from the max grade numbers).

Her's a couple I've done recently. If you click on the "End" point on the left, it gives you the details about the ride...

Pay no attention to the average speeds. I'm still getting over a wicked respiratory infection and a pretty bad ankle injury...

Here is my regular short ride.

Last nights easy paced club ride. I actually had 3 flats on this one. One in the parking lot prior to riding, and two on the road. A sneaky broken bead on the tire was the culprit. Put a boot in on the last change, and that got us back. Bought a new tire today, a few tubes, and Co2 cartridges to replenish my stock. Thankfully my fellow riders were more than patient with my tire changes. I don't recall having one flat last year, so I guess the cycling gremlins figured they owe me.

Wow! 21mph average! I can only hope to be there one day. You'd definitely be in the A group in my group rides.

Crazy88s 07-30-10 07:00 PM

I'm jealous that you guys get to commute to work by bicycle. My commute is 80 miles RT and that's on the interstate. I need to move closer into town.

My simple stroll today... nothing fancy, just a ride..

It's a group ride / training race. The first half or so before they blew my engine was in a 20 or so bike peloton (starts with around 30 and shrinks as we go). It's easier to go fast in a group with drafting.... albeit not so easy to go 20 on the climbs or 30+ on the flat bits. I've been trying to hang with these guys this season and so far have only made it all the way around just once... an oddly magical evening.

Ok, I'll play. This is last Satudays ride.

Just finished tonights ride about and hour ago. I just beat my fastest time by 2:00. I think I would have finished the ride in under 2hrs 30mins but one of the rider's I was with was close to bonking so I slowed to keep pace with her.

My Saturday morning oceanside ride. New Marinoni coming soon so I am benchmarking all my favourite rides.

My ride from this morning. Part of the Blazing Saddles group ride they have every year in Heard County, GA. It was hot as all get out. This is the longest I've ever ridden as well as being the most I've ever climbed on a ride.

pretty slow, mostly due to a buddy trying this ride on his mountain bike with knobby tires.

(btw, great idea for a thread. i'm too bashful to post my log on the road forum)

Todays Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen club ride. Started with a group of sixteen, and ended with fourteen. One left early as he wasn't feeling up to it today, and the other split off to make his way home in the opposite direction. The group stayed together really well, and we had plenty of regroups to make sure it did. I'm always amazed at the beautiful roads the ride leaders find for us. At one point a small calf decided to race along side us, and it did a good job of keeping up for about 100'. Saw quite a few other cyclist out there as well.

Wanted to check out this road with few cars before the rain/darkness (rain was west, that pic is looking east)

Usual Tuesday night ride although we usually do 30 miles. It was wicked hot so we just did 21 and change. Wanted to be at 17mph avg but it's close enough.

Crazy88s 08-05-10 06:39 PM

My first 18+mph avg ride. I felt really good tonight. Legs seemed fresh and I had plenty of energy.

tell me about your new bike. I recently heard the name Marinoni. Did you go for custom geometry?

you had a 170-180 bpm heart rate from :30 until 1:27

My commute to work would only be 11 miles each way, but the 1250' of climbing right off the bat at 5:00 in the morning, and then the same amount on the way back home, doesn't make it too fun. Here's the route, done last saturday:

Wow! That's awesome. I think I was playing video games when I was 12.

Here's the link from my group ride today. Wasn't particularly fast but great ride.

My sons have video games I just try to keep them off it, bike rides, skateboarding, fishing, hunting. Real life is more fun than make believe.

Herbie53 08-07-10 05:02 PM

Saturday ride, mostly with the the bunch. In theory it's supposed to be longer and slower than the Tuesday and Thursday hammerfests. I was solo post this thing they call the wall around mile 37 or so.

I guess is was longer.
