"Biggest Looser" Again This Week, 90.2# Total Weight Loss Since January

3 weeks ago, I had a 2.4# weight gain @ the saturday morning Weight Watchers weigh in. (my 1st weight gain since joining in January) I had been very lax that week.

I buckled down, tracked/limited my food intake & acheived a 5.6# weight loss the following week & was the "Biggest Looser" of the group. I followed W/a 2# loss the following week, then another 4.8# this last week. I got the "Biggest Looser" "star" again this last week..

So far, in 33 weeks @ doing the Weight Watchers plan I have had a total weight loss of 90.2# thanks to 2 months of daily XC skiing @ the beginning of the year followed up by 3,800 miles (so far) on the bikes since mid March.

I hope to get another 1,200 miles in before the snow flies up here on the tundra & shed another 30+# to get down to 200#. I might adjust my ultamate weight goal down to 190# if I can't get my waistline down to 34" @ 200#.

I should still have SOME riding weather into mid December. I usually get around 150-200 miles per week so 6-8 weeks should do it.

Last week I took my new Specialized "Crosstrail" hybrid on a 113 mi loop. It took me from 6:05 AM to around 4:30 PM stopping for breakfast 20 miles in & several other stops to run errands & eat lunch on the trip. I have nearly 400 miles on that bike in 2 weeks & I road another 40 miles or so on the Cadillac MTB during that time.

I believe the "pedal time" on the 113 mi trip was 8 hr & 29 mins according to my trip computer.

Bear Hunting on the Cadillac

BTW: Several weeks back I ran across a large Black Bear on a remote section of trail in the Adirondacks.

I also found numerous piles on Bear @hit (yes they DO "$hit in the woods") near where I was camped.

I plan to use the MTB for quick/quiet access & I'm just finishing up an 8x57 VZ500 Mauser on a classic obendorf style stock for the expedition. It weighs just 7# 6 oz W/sling/scope, etc.

Early Black Bear season opens on the 18th (this coming saturday)

So if we see a bear on a bicycle, we'll know things did not go as planned .

Congrats!

That kind of weight loss is a great achievement, good going.

You must feel like a totally new person.
