Success stories from another site

That guy who lost 300+ lbs, reported in a previous thread, is absolutely amazing. I love to read stories like that.

I thought some of you might be interested in these success stories, too. Some are very inspirational. There are many pictures and many stories.

Edit: My link may not work. It doesn't read the same as the one I copied.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I don't see it as a 'success' site. More like a shill.

If I broke a rule or annoyed some of you (which apparently I did), I apologize. That was not my intention.

Oh, now I see that Dr. Fuhrman's official blog is separate from his business website, which I assume makes it OK to link to the blog. I'm learning; I'll get this internet etiquette thing down some day.

Not exactly a shill site, I mean he is pretty open about who he is and that he created the Primal stuff which is really nothing other than paleo diet plus exercise. What astounds me is that so many seemingly intelligent people don't believe thermodynamics is what determines weight. It's like not believing gravity exists. If you eat more calories than you burn, then you will gain weight; eat fewer calories and you will lose weight. Not eating grains or sugars may help you eat less because your insulin level isn't see-sawing, but it's the total calories in/out that matters for weight.

That's pretty effortless. Twinkies are readily available, inexpensive, require zero preparation, don't spoil, etc, etc. Hell of a lot easier and less expensive than paleo, and as expected he lost weight. That's not really interesting. What is interesting is that according to the objective measures he was healthier after ten weeks of twinkies than his previous healthful diet of over indulgence. You can speculate on the reasons why his numbers (HDL, LDL, Trigs) all dramatically improved and what that does or doesn't mean.

i went on a self imposed diet of a grapefruit or a couple of oranges or other fruit every 3 hours and a sensible dinner and had good success without a increase in exercise. the theory behind it as my doctor explained it is your metabolism works after you eat for a certain amount of time if you eat every 4 or 5 hours then there is a hour or 2 that your metabolism isn't working at all and by eating every 3 hours you keep your metabolism working all the time.
