OT: Warrior Dash
Have you seen it, yet? Warrior Dash Dot Com, check it out.
This makes me want to train to run a 5k. This looks likes lots of fun, kinda like cyclocross for runner
Time to go run.

I have a bunch of friends that did it last summer. My wife and I are going to sign up for the Atlanta area race. We were just talking about it about an hour ago. It should be a blast.

Amusing, for sure; but how "warrior" is it really when people are completing it in full costumes? I have a bunch of fitness friends up here that are doing it, and I just can't bring myself to go out there and do it.
I'm saving up my "get muddy" race energy for CX season.

It's a fun event but not competitive or serious. They give you beer at the end :-) The one I did last year was on a ski mountain. 2.5k uphill, 2.5k downhill.

I have just wanted to start adding Running to the fitness regiment, but hate it. So this looks like something, and much less boring.
Anyway it got me from the Elliptical, over to the treadmill today, and I surprised myself when I ran better than I thought I would do.
@cliff, you really can't take a warrior with multiple pieces of period specific armour on anyway, especially from different cultures

I participated in the Warrior Dash in PA last October, I am by no means a runner but had an absolute blast and felt great after the run. I maybe ran once or twices a couple of weeks before the event and now have been running once or twice a week since. The beer at the end certainly helped motivate me to finish. Plus you get a really cool warrior helmet!!!(Kind of looks like Fred Flintstone's Grand PooBah Hat).
