New wheels and chain question
Recently I purchased a set of road wheels/tires for my cross bike with the intention of having hot swappable wheels. My original wheels would serve cross, commuting, and trainer duty while the road set would be used for group rides and charity events. While the new wheels are significantly lighter, I didn't buy them to be a weight weenie...I just hate swapping tires around.
Course, the best solution to that problem would be a new bike...
Anyways, I bought a matching cassette which is identical to the stock one for the new wheel set. I also picked up a new chain for good measure as my current one is just about due to be replaced. My question is this:
Will there be any trouble if I run a brand new chain and switch between wheels which have a brand new cassette and one that has 2500 miles on it? The old chain is not stretched significantly and there appears to be no ramping on the old cassette. Is it possible running the same chain between two wheels will accelerate wear on the chain or the new cassette?
My gut instinct tells me no harm will come of this as the miles on my old cassette are pretty low, but I thought I would defer to the collective minds of the forum.

Check the chain (12 links should measure <12.125"). I start wearing my chains out around 2,000 miles; you can wreck a cassette fairly quickly if the chain has "stretched."
