Stumpy 29er Expert Carbon

Well, my kind of road bike. Got hooked on riding about a year or so ago and this is the fourth bike I've bought. Its pretty much been my dream bike for a while now but couldnt stomach the price tag last fall when i rode it. Got my tax return and just out of curiosity I called up the shop and they just happened to still have the bike at a nice discount:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Anyway, the bike rules for my kind of riding (flat ground with curbs or groomed trails as hard as I can ride) and wont break. I like it so much I decided to splurge on a professional fitting. Got some Panaracer Ribmos (absolutely love these tires), an Easton EC70 wide xc bar, some Ergons and a few other items to deck her out with.

My only minor complaint so far is the Fox F29 fork is a lot spongier than the Fox fork on my Giant Trance X2. I've pumped the fork up to about 130psi (I'm 250lbs and the recommended pressure is 125psi) and the thing bounces like crazy when I stand up and mash the pedals (lock out position). The Fox fork on my Trance didnt do that locked out. I've never had a 29er rigid - maybe the trance's rear shock was absorbing some of that?

I dont know man, but I've found my dream bike and all I want to do is go out and ride the dang thing.

Funny, I've got a tatto (in progress) of Eddie depicted as a samurai warrior on my entire forearm - ride on brother.

Crappy pic, but you get the idea. Its a start to a whole sleeve to the trap which starts as samurai Eddie and works up to Viking Eddie with fallen enemies and viking ships in the background. Riding is a new hobby for me - being a Viking Swede metal head warrior is my passion :thumb:

I don't have an eddie tattoo, but with that bike it would be fun to Run to the hills, Run for your life.

My 26er Fox F120 bounces like crazy when it isn't locked out. When it is locked out, it's relatively stable. Might be worth getting your LBS to take a look and make sure there isn't a problem with the fork. It almost sounds like the lockout isn't engaging. Or maybe the air pressures are so far off they're triggering the blow-off? I've found Fox's suggested air pressures to be wildly inaccurate. I'd suggest measuring and setting sag. Don't worry what the pressure gauge on your suspension pump says: if the sag isn't right, you won't get optimal performance out of the fork...

Sweet ride ! Do you use your Garmin 500 on all 4 bikes? I'm curious because I just got one and noticed it seems to have settings for up to 3 bikes.

Its pretty firm when locked, but I can still compress the fork pretty good even when locked out - even more when stomping the pedals. I'll ask the mechanic about it, thanks for the tip. Maybe its because its a different modle fork, but the F29 lock out dial doesnt have as much resistance when I move it to the lockout position (like its just floating back and forth not doing anything)

PUG - yeah, I have mounts for all my bikes. Its a pretty cool device, I'll never go back to a regular cyclocomputer.

Got the Panaracer Ribmo's (700x35) installed. I absolutely love these tires - they pump up to 95psi and I've never had flat problems (had some on my 26" mtn bike). I also got an Easton EC70 wide bar and a Thomson stem. Have a Thomson seat post and a Fizik aliante gamma seat (comfy seat) coming. I dont need these things, but this is sort of a dream bike for me, so I'm going all out. The wheelset is good enough.

Havent ridden much as the weather in Portland sucks right now, but I took her out today for a short 40 min ride - awesome - its pretty sweet being able to haul ass and actually stop now :thumb::thumb::thumb:
