Cycling jersey 3xl to 4xl tall who makes em?

I'm looking for a jersey or two AND I'm cheap!

I generally wear a 3 or 4 xl shirt, but I'm also tall so it needs to be long as well.

Who makes em and where do I buy it?

You might want to try and see if there is any place (or a friend) that you can try one on. If you wear a 3 or 4 XL shirt you'll most likely need an even larger jersey unless you like looking like you were vacuum sealed inside of it. I wear mostly XL t-shirts and I had to get a 3XL jersey, and I would not consider it "loose" by any means.

I used to be able to fit in 2xl and look pretty good, but for some reason the "vacuum seal" look doesn't look as good as it used to.......

aerotech designs stuff is sized for Americans, so I would imagine their jerseys would fit true to t-shirt size. They're also more of a "club fit", not a race fit. I know their shorts/bibs/tights fit true to size, so I imagine their jerseys would as well. That's where I'm ordering mine from.

When I started I was wearing 3xl and bought shorts and jersey from Aerotech in 3Xl. They fit fine and weren't the shrink wrapped look. Not sure about length though, since I am only 5'9"

I wear a 3XL in most things, 2XL in some. I've got 3 jerseys from Aerotech, 1 3X and 2 4X. The 3X is just a little too small, but I like things loose anyway. YMMV.

I found this out with motorcycle clothing, you talk about a sinking feeling when I tried to put a coat on that was sized way different.

Joe Rocket stuff fits true to American sizing IME. I wear a JR Ballistic jacket and pants and they fit true to my normal coat and pants size.

Which I find strange with motorcycles, considering the number of motorcycle riders, who seem to be only exercising their Molson Muscle, and little else.... I knew one fellow who spent a year riding his bicycle, dropped to 205lbs, switched to a motorcycle and promptly gained 60lbs.

I know what you mean. For me, that look used be akin to two St Bernards fighting their way out of a bag. These days it's a single St Bernard. ;)

Do NOT buy the "Clydesdale Jersey" from Bikethings.com expecting it to fit. I paid for the 3XL and it would be had pressed to fit a Large. It's even too tight around my biceps!

I have 2 jerseys from CycleTall and they definitely look vaccum sealed. Have purchased Aerotech shorts but haven't tried to get their jerseys, yet.

I think someone could get a nice business going by adding the bib part to shorts or selling the stuff to DIY.

Thanks ya'll now I'm searching for a windbreaker too!

AngelGendy 03-23-11 08:27 AM

The aerotech long sleeve, long/tall jersey only comes in red but I'll have to suffer with it! to be safe I may get the 4X or 5X.

Not true... In fact the light blue is on sale right now. I just ordered one two days ago in a 4XLT. $24.95 shipped!! The other colors are $39.95. The light blue short sleeve is also on sale.

Just double checked and all of the colors are available in 4XLT... both short and long sleeved. The light blue short sleeved larger sizes are all gone though. If you go to the tall cyclewear link - http://www.aerotechdesigns.com/tallman2.htm - instead of here - http://www.aerotechdesigns.com/bigjersey.htm - you will find more sizes in all the colors. Poor web design IMHO... Good products though.

Before making my first post in this thread I had chanced to purchase a jersey from a major mail order retailer that I had not previously done business with. I purchased a Century short sleeve style jersey from Performance Bicycle (Bike Forum sponsor) that was on sale at the time. It arrived today and is NOT as "vacuum sealed" as the others. It seems to have shoulder room

I should go ahead and photograph myself in the jersey as well as those from cycle tall, if ya'll can stand the sight of a guy who is perennially trying to get into a shape other than round. If I do a comparison it will allow folks to get an idea of the difference in cut by having them on the same body.

Sounds like Harley riders... Sport bikers, sport touring riders, and motocrossers tend to be a bit more athletic...

AngelGendy 03-23-11 07:48 PM

Thanks jonsey I'll survive with light blue, and I'll match my wife's jacket....

A quick report on the fit of the 3xl jersey from Performance.

Not only does it not feel painted on, it actually rides pretty well in the saddle!

For reference I am 6'6" with much of my height in my "back" rather than legs. I'm 54+ around the chest.

Considering that Performance is a sponsor of our beloved forum I think that you may want to consider this item if you need a jersey.
