Good trip to the LBS

So, the LBS (Montgomery Cyclery for those near Cincinnati) had mentioned they were having a big weekend sale. Having just bought my bike there (I'm just a customer, not affiliated) I decided to go see if I could get the price match if mine was on sale. First up, walked in, showed my receipt, and got $50 back from the bike, as it was $50 off today. Then, found a Bell Variant helmet marked down to $40 from $100. Picked up some gloves, a frame pump, a wedge pack, flat repair kit...overall, $175 retail after tax. Since I had the $50 credit, I walked out with all my goodies for $42 out of pocket.

I'm in a good mood

<Our sales scheme worked boys. I told you if we advertised a price reduction in bikes people will show up and buy stuff they were thinking about buying but couldn't justify spending the money for. What should we do next month? How bout tellin em they need a bell, hi-viz gear, and lights.>

All kidding aside, I know the feeling of buying items at a discount that you were going to purchase anyway.

I'm a happy customer of Montgomery Cyclery as well. It is good to make a buy on something you already planning on buying. Just have to beware of seeing all the "shiny" things and getting carried away!! LOL

Ain't it cool? Walked in to REI a couple weeks ago looking for a new Terry Liberator saddle, expecting to pay $70, if they had it in stock. Not only was it in stock, it was 1/2 off. Woot!

I've known this sale was coming since I bought my bike, so I was holding off on buying the stuff I knew I needed. I just managed to make out even better than I'd hoped. I are pleased.

Roadtrip - all the accessories are at least 20% off this weekend if you need anything, and bikes are at least 10%. I'm closest to the Erlanger shop, but the sale is at all their locations...
