uggggh! Bought a new digital scale this past week that replaced our 17 year old gauge scale. Even though we thought is was 10 lbs off, which we adjusted for, it seems that is was actually 15 lbs off. That being said, I was heavier then I thought but I still lost weight. As a result I have adjusted my weigh ins by 5 lbs.

-----------old---- new
1/1/2011 - 250 ---255
1/6/2011 - 246 ---251
1/17/2011 - 250---255
1/24/2011 - 247---252
1/31/2011 - 244---249
2/07/2011 - 243---248
2/14/2011 - 240---245
2/21/2011 - 239---244
2/28/2011 - 236---241
3/07/2011 - 238---243
3/14/2011 - 233---238
3/21/2011 - 233---238
3/28/2011 - 231---236
4/04/2011--------233

Was looking fwd to being in the 220s again but I guess that will have to wait another week or so. April goal is to be btwn 225-227 by the end of the month.

Jan 1 2011 -- 290 lbs
Last week -- 270 lbs
Today -- 270 lbs

Confession time: on Wednesday I woke up hungry. Not "oh breakfast will be so tasty" hungry, but "I hope there is a whole wildebeest in the fridge for me" hungry. I stuck with my meal plans but by Thursday afternoon I really thought I was gonna eat the neighbourhood cat. I can't remember a time when my stomach growled endlessly for hours, even after eating lunch or supper. So, Friday, Saturday and Sunday I indulged in a several treats. The best treat was the bougatsa thessalonkiki -- the custard kind. I am now a very happy person and think this week is the week I destroy at least 3 lbs. Yup. Feeling positive.

07/01/2009 = 345 lbs!
03/02 = 281.0 lbs
03/06 = 273.4 lbs
03/13 = 272.4 lbs
03/20 = 267.0 lbs
03/27 = 264.6 lbs
04/03 = 262.8 lbs

I can't even begin to tell you how pumped I am about my loss this week. We had absolutely HORRIBLE weather all week and I think I put a whopping 18 miles on the road and honestly, I ate like crap a few more days than usual this week. Only real exercise I got all week was setting up and tearing down bleachers for an event on campus this weekend. I was bracing myself for the worst when I jumped on the scale yesterday morning. I was in complete shock when I saw I lost almost 2 pounds!

All-time high: 304.5 in May, 2004

01/01 - 210.5
01/08 - 209.5
01/15 - 210.5
01/22 - 208.5
01/29 - 211.0
02/05 - 212.5
02/12 - 208.5
02/19 - 199.0
02/26 - 201.5
03/05 - did not weigh
03/12 - 203.0
03/19 - 200.5
03/26 - 198.5
04/02 - 198.5

At least I'm still under 200, which is gratifying to see. As many of you might understand, pessimistic thoughts tend to creep in, and that sub-200 week might have been a fluke - stinking thinking, I know.

The curious thing, though, is that for some reason I showed a one pound loss at WW a few minutes later.

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia, Jessica. Take care of yourself. I know you want to get back out on the trails as soon as possible, but let this run its course first.

Did not do so well this week, weather was horrible and I only got out once. We are supposed to be safe from here on out, today is 60+ so it will be a nice evening ride.

Thank you all for running this thread, I need to set some goals for the remainder of the year and become more active on the boards as a new rider all this information and knowledge can be quite intimidating!

03/14/2011 = 424.6
03/21/2011 = 420.6
04/04/2011 = 417.2

I missed the prior week cause I got sick and my back wheel has a loose spoke so it's not true atm either. Also the back tire has a hole in it and the tube has a leak in it too both in different places. So I haven't been able to ride much at all in the past week and a half. I'm gonna need a new tire and tube and also get my rear wheel trued.
I'll be walking and using my stationary bike more till I can get those things fixed.

04/05 = 222.0 lbs Did I mention that I don't travel well? When I'm out of my element/on someone else's schedule/doing what the group does, I have trouble. Also, since I was in sunny Central Florida (Cocoa Beach area), the good weather triggered my "Jimmy Buffett Let's All Get Drunk" response, which I squelched with sugar (but I still didn't drink ) I'd reckon that a portion of this is water weight, but still... I foresee April being a rough month as I'm home this week, then gone the two next (business then vacation), so I'm going to do what damage control I can and get back to things when all the travel is done

Congrats to all who've posted losses. Keep up the good work! And for those who've had setbacks large or small, hang in there. You'll get back into your respective grooves soon, I know. After all, warmer weather's right around the corner. Unless you're around the corner, too, in which case you've already got the nice weather.

Seve, that's a very respectable # and I'd be happy to maintain that as well.

Quick tip, if you really are wanting to shed the last of that weight casual riding and your normal eating habits probably aren't going to do it. The last of the weight is the hardest to lose as every one knows. To lose it you really have to up your training to high intensity/high impact training. (think circuit course type stuff)

Like I said though, I'd be pretty pumped about that #, as I'm sure you are. Just some thoughts though if you want to give something else a go to shed the last of it.

CONGRATS!!

I do have a fair amount of nutrition/ weight loss education I just chose to ignore it for far to long! lol
