No matter the personal desires I don't think it wise to curse the rain when living on the High Plains or the mountains.

Just think about how green everything will be when the weather is more conducive to riding!

I've also had enough of the Spring monsoons. Flooded roads, low temperatures, constant grey skies, and the neverending miserable spitting rain. Yeah, I live just outside of Seattle; but there's a point when it's ridiculous, even for here.

I'm not cursing it, I just wish it would be bad weather at night only... Of course, I also work outdoors too, so, the weather and I are often at odds... Since I expect to be a bucket truck tomorrow and Thursday, less wind, little moisture and no lighting are preferred! Plus, I want to take the wife for another bike ride Friday...

79 in Philly yesterday. And this past weekend wasn't half bad, although cold in the a.m. Today, it's raining and will drop down into the 30s tonight. But this coming weekend is looking descent enough, and the long range for next week looks even better. Our third annual long Easter weekend tour is two weeks from this coming Friday. All this stuff better be gone by then or I am going to be pissed.

We here in North Texas are in our annual windy season. We have great temps in the upper 80's all week, but with 30 MPH+ winds whipping around. The wind usually lasts all of March and most of April.

I'm hoping the wind is gone by the time I can get back on the bike by the end of April or so.

Im in Woodinvile and it seems we havent had a single span of dry weather. I ride every other day and my gloves/helmet just wont dry out as they get soaked on every run. As we move towards May, fingers crossed this wetness ends!

June allergies...

The problem here isn't the April showers,it's when those April showers are a rain/snow mix, and the wind is 30km/h gusting to 40, that it bugs me.... Looking at Thursday and Saturday as possible outdoor at the moment, today is indoor (wind). Oh well, this is the crossover season, I look back at the ride plan from January it shows January - March all indoors, April-May is some inside some outside, June to August is outdoor, September-October is some inside some outside again, the November-December is all indoor again....

It's very windy here as well! And it turned COLD! Highs only in the 60's!

I love the south, and I really love New Orleans, no hills, ride all year, and a very nice MUP to ride on for about 30 miles one way. I never get lost!

Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong forecast, but what's the problem ?

Maybe i'm at a certain point where the weather doesn't affect me all that much anymore .

Seattle area forecast for today:

"Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers this morning...then showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Small hail is possible and heavier showers may be mixed with snow. Highs in the 40s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. "

So lovely!

I feel for all you Pacific Northwest people. I was born and raised in that rusthole and I absolutely HATED it! I probably broke every part on the Schwinn Caliente that I rode during childhood The weather up there is not easy on bike parts. Especially if you're like I was and you leave your bike in the backyard to get rained on

Man, that forecast sucks, glad I'm not there. Right now, the wind is killing me here. It was 85F and sunny but the wind was a constant 20-25mph with gusts up to 38mph. I am anxious for the summer high pressure ridge to settle in and calm the winds. I will ride in 105F all day long but I can't do wind like this. I wish I had time during the week to hit the MTB trail where the wind is not a factor.

It was/is awful weather lately. I manged to get 10 miles in and called it a day. The hail was bouncing off my hands!

We moved here 5 yrs ago from the San Francisco area - at times like this I would move back south in a heartbeat

I got an email from my father yesterday. He's so sick of the rain this year that he mentioned moving someplace sunnier. He's in Portland, home of rain in July. I'm glad I'm outta there!

Your lucky - we just had thunder/lightening and a two-hour slush/snowstorm. I think the worst for me is the goofy newsrooms around here, the world is falling apart (wars etc) yet they will spend 20 minutes discussing the slush we received and guessing when we "may see sun". I decided last fall to ride no matter what the weather. If I wait for good weather around these parts I will get 3-4 outside rides per year.

It must be pretty bad when you long for the 'nice' weather of San Francisco.

Very true. However, awoke this morning to a gentle covering of snow and ice over the neighborhood. Luckily enough, I bought a used commuter/winter bike last weekend and so Ive been riding that. THumbs up to the inventor of fenders
