I'm an assistant manager for the parts department of a large copy machine / printer sales and repair company. We're in most of california with branches in Nevada & Oregon as well.
Tends to be a bit stressful, but I've made alot of really good friends while working here. The biggest perk is my boss is a great friend of mine and we're doing the Chico wildflower this weekend.

Consultant doing Software Development for desktop, server, and web apps. 95% of my dev work is in Linux, the other 5% is just getting IE to work correctly with the web app Spend a lot of free time hacking on Linux distros and KDE. Right now I am working a contract stuck on a Windows box that makes me want to rip my eyeballs out and eat them.

I don't have an official title really but here we go.

I work for a non-profit educational (School Alternative) program for severly disabled children, and young adults. And my second job, in home nursing aide.

Maybe the only one on BF? I've got a buddy in the Seattle Randos who is an insurance agent; he runs some kind of fancy-schmancy brokerage that caters to estate homes, ultra luxury vehicles, and (since he's a cyclist) bicycle insurance for international travellers.

I'm an all-around computer geek for a government lands agency. My specialty is providing database management, website coding and design, and technical report writing skills and support for "-ologists: (biologists, geologists, meteorologists, anthropologists, etc.), land manager and park ranger types, etc.

I used to be an ecologist, but am better at the computer stuff. I like learning new things all the time, and figuring out how to "fix" broken databases and software for the "-ologists" that are out there actively working on conservation and natural research issues.

And yes, I'm a pretty hard-core "green" ecology type.

I am a radiologic technologist, I take xrays. I am a full tech and can operate fluoro equipment and a c-arm in surgery. I work for an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in knees, shoulders and hips. I'm currently studying to take my test to be a registered ortho tech (casting and splinting) and will be getting my CT certification in the fall. My new career after going back to school at age 30. Spent a few years installing car audio and video stuff, selling electronics, working in wholesale, driving a parts truck. I've done a few things but I love my new career and healthcare is damn near turning into retail sales anyway so I can use all my people skills at work. lol.

Environmental Health & Safety. Used to work in the regulated community and for a private consulting firm ("I make my loot when you pollute"), now work in the public sector as a government regulator ("walk the line or pay the fine").

Unix System Administrator, but I got laid off 11 months ago and haven't been able to find a job. I've run out of unemployment benefits and now will have to sell stuff to pay rent. My car is first, I guess.

I'm a senior executive in the Department of Defense. I help run a laboratory that analyzes terrorist explosive devices.

Long ago, in a Cold War far, far away I also dabbled in nuclear submarines.

So my interest in bicycling is obvious.https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I just got my first real job out of college as a legal assistant (read: paper pusher, desk jockey). Unfortunately, I work for a law firm that does foreclosures........as in they are the plaintiffs on the case.

Hopefully I never see anyone here's real name on a sheet of paper!
