love2pedal jersey sizing?

Who here has experience with the love2pedal jerseys? I found a design that I really love, but it only comes in XXL. They say to go a size higher if you want a looser fit, but I'm wondering if XXL won't be sort of tentlike on me. I'm pretty top heavy, but I have a 38-40 waist and they recommend XXL for 41+ I think. I'm also 6' and they recommend it for 6'2" +

Have you guys found your regular shirt size to be pretty accurate with theirs?

the jersey in question:

^^^just saw that it's now out of stock...dammit! I guess my question still stands if I take a look at any other styles.

Send Dan an email. Maybe he's expecting more soon. He always responds quickly and honestly. Great company to do businesses with.

The problem with ordering apparel online is you can't try it on. If you know your specific measurements and the specs the seller prints matches up, great. I have had bad luck buying jerseys online, but prhaps that's just me. Good luck.

If it doesn't fit, you can always send it back.

The jersey I got from Dan was also a Primal Wear. I went to my local Performance shop because they also sold them and tried on a few, even though they were different graphic designs from the one I wanted. I found that an XL from Primal fits a 46" chest and 38" waist well. I realize you're a different size, and I also don't know what sizes your jersey will be available in when it's restocked, but that info, along with a fitting chart from Dan's site, might help you sort it out.

It also depends a little on what kind of fit you want. That XL is snug on me, but not uncomfortably tight.

Primal can be a little confusing because they offer jerseys in several different cuts. Their "raglan cut" isn't as tight as their "set-in" or "sport" cut. I usually look for Primal jerseys with the raglan cut. I need to order at least one size larger if the jersey is a sport cut, otherwise I look like an over-stuffed sausage; even then they're pretty snug...

That's a good point. I should have mentioned the one I have is a raglan. But beyond that I can't add to the discussion because I've never tried on any of their non-raglan jerseys.

I'm 6'2", and 40" waist measured around my belly button. Primal Wear 2XL fits me snugly, but well. I have a couple of the love2pedal Falconi jerseys in 2XL too... the ones that are listed as the more generous cut. They fit about like a 2XL T-shirt, maybe a hair slimmer.

BTW, I'd also like to add that love2pedal has EXCELLENT service and are very good about returns and size swaps.
