Went for a 1.6 mile ride tonight
Got the kids together, wife.. pumped up 8 tires to the appropriate pressure, filled 5 water bottles, rolled 4 bikes out into the driveway, fired up the GPS... rode up the nasty hill that is my driveway and about 1.6 miles down the road.
Pssssssssss.
Went for a 1.6 mile walk home while the wife and kids finished their ride.
Turns out the blowout I sustained the other day (landed in a weird concrete rut avoiding my daughter) also damaged my tire...
So I'm walking my bike home (barefoot) and some totally cool other biker dude says "Hey, you OK?"
and I said "yep, blew out my tire"
"Do you need a tube or anything?"
"Nope, just a tire."
Which of course restored my faith in humanity.

Heh, I didn't even make it as far as you did tonight. I drove to the trail I ride on and my front tire was flat. I didn't even notice it earlier in the day(cause I leave my bike in my jeep and ride around with it). I couldn't believe I just noticed it was flat when it's after 7pm and I'm at the trail ready to ride. It was nice out too, what a bummer.

Well that sucks, at least you weren't 10 miles from home. It does make you feel good when a stranger offers to help out of the kindness of their heart.
