(Sorry... I guess that should be N+2, not N-1)

I said goodbye to an old friend today:
http://i.imgur.com/C9PUrl.jpg Here she is in some of her many guises over the years: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215951http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215946http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215948http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215949http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215950http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215954http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215953 I was sorry to see her go, but I seriously needed to make some room in my garage. Sometimes it seems that I spend more time collecting and tinkering with my bikes than I do riding them. I let her go for what I considered a fair price (although her sentimental value was much higher). I only hope she brings as much joy (and fewer skinned knuckles) to her new owner. I also gave another one of my project bikes to my daughter, so I guess I'm down to N+3. |
I think about my old bikes sometimes too.
I like your lock holder. Was it stable? |

I like your lock holder. Was it stable? http://i.imgur.com/MQRfql.jpg It's just a cheap lock from a big box store. The bracket actually works quite well; the shackle drops into a recess that prevents it from swinging out of the frame, and it has a QR. One of my daughters has it on her bike now. Personally, I prefer the u-lock bracket that I'm using now (of course, it only works on bikes that have a rear rack): http://i.imgur.com/r5MoSl.jpg |
It's always sad when you have to give up a bike, and a lot more when it was a good, well loved one. I just turned in my road bike the evening before yesterday's. I'm getting a new frame set, and looking forward to the new bike, but miss the old one already.
