New Clydesdale,second ride today.
Did my first ride sat, aprox 20 miles didn't realize how flat it was till today.Rails to Trails..
Decide to try one of our State parks today for ride #2,well it was only 7 miles but it had some hills that put me thru the ringer,i never had to stop but it was close on a few of them, took about 40 mins to do the 7 miles but was so worth it.i was going to try 1 more lap but the skys opened up and the down pour began,so i took it as a sign to try again another day.
Lil info on me 46 years old,5-9 301 lbs always been big but was real active until 2008 when everything collapsed and i have been trying to keep my business afloat but ignored my health during that time, packed on 40lbs...well i went out Fri and bought a Trek 8.3 DS.
Sorry i waited so long to get back on a bike

Way to go! When I got back on my bike after more than a year of recup'ing from a shredded ankle, my butt was so sore after just 5 miles, dude, I couldn't sit down comfortably for 3 days, let alone get back on the saddle. I didn't realize how much "butt-toughness" one could lose in just a year. But it happens. So kudos to you! And I gotta love blowing money on a new bike or better yet, new bike parts!

I always tell friends who are new to biking that the only thing more painful than the first time out on the saddle is the second time. So congrats to the OP for getting out there!

welcome aboard! DO NOT apologize for not being on a bike for so long, just keep riding! It only gets better, easier, and you will go further than you ever imagined. My first ride after easily 25 years was a mile around my neighbourhood because I was afraid I would fall...now my warm-up is 8 miles!
Just get out repeatedly and ride, brother, the rest will take care of itself!

Keep posting these good reports. We are all rooting for you. It was @3 years ago that a 40 minute ride ruined me for half a day. My weight is down some, not a bunch, but the distribution is better. Everything is better! Keep spinning them cranks!
