Cycling and trucks aren't that foreign. I've seen loads of over-the-road trucks with bicycles behind the cab. It makes it easy for the truck driver to get down to the McDonalds/Coffee Shop/Whatever without unhooking the trailer.

Congratulations on the opportunity. Work is hard to come by these days and GOOD work seems to be really rare.
