Pedal of choice?
6'3 280lbs here and looking for the best pedal for my size 14's.
I ride my single speed primarily for short work commutes and around town. I mostly wear sneakers and/or work boots and have used Power Grips (although I am searching for an upgrade).
Thoughts/suggestions?

I use these pedals with Power Grips on my mountain bike and commuter. I have size 15's. They might be able to be found cheaper.

I tried powergrips once and didn't care for them. I have double sided pedals on my utility bike, so I can ride in SPD cycling shoes or street shoes. A pair of Performance Forte MTX pedals that are actually rebranded Wellgo's. The platform side is nice and big, and has some metal pins to help keep my foot in place with the street shoes.

I use crank brother egg beaters, but I ride clipless on both the road bike and fixed gear.

I use Odyssey Trail mix pedals on all of my bikes that get used regularly which makes 3! I too have a size 14 hoof attached to my leg and actually broke a nylon pedal, I have never had an issue with the trail mix and they look good too IMHO, here is a photo of the new set on my Xcal.

I like the Odysseys but have been leaning towards MKS Touring. Any Clydes/Athena's run these? Only problem is that they wouldn't accommodate a straps based foot retention system.

Beater road bike has Wellgo WPD-95Bs (hybrid style - low fat pedal on one side, clipless SPD style option on the other side)
Touring Bike has MKS Sylvan old quill style cage

Still the best, but I worry about the crmo axle. Broke left side on an older pair earlier accelerating off the line on a left turn... still alive. But have a second set. Still see NOS pedals of same type on eBay for $150 a pair. Tempted...
My foot isn't size 14 though. YMMV.

These are my favorite right now. Faux Campy from KTT. They grip my tennis shoes really well. I'm also fond of Lyotards that you find on old Peugeots. It rains a lot here and slippery pedals are a pain. I find power grips and other types of straps a pain too because of the constant start-stop traffic.
I've read several places where you can file down the end tip on Campy styles so your foot can overlap. Doesn't seem to harm them, but it does take the value away.

I also vote for the Shimano 520's...I use the Shimano m520 and they work great with my shoes and no equipment damage (so far). I rolled around with the Forte Campus pedals (platform/spd) but never, ever used the platforms. Any time I did, it just felt weird and like I was missing something. I ended up busting the clip off of one of them when trying to pull my foot out vertically during an emergency stop--don't know if that speaks more to adrenaline-strength or equipment durability. Something to think about, at least.

I think the RMX works with straps and FRS but not sure about the Lambada

SPD's are the way to go, they are great mountain bike pedals and work well on road too. Plus since this Clyde does not climb like the wispy guys . . . the leisurely walks are easier too.

I like my SPD's. I like my TIME ATAC better, but I have been too lazy to switch them over to my Sirrus... they allow more float, and are a bit easier to get into. Getting out is probably the same.
Nothing wrong with some BMX style alloy pedals with the allen set screws in them for grip. I use those on my mountain bike, which I use on flat trails. Its just nice to be able to have NORMAL shoes on for the casual riding I do on the bike path...

Currently using Forte SPD. I traded Speedplay Frogs for them when I went to outfit multiple bikes and wanted to save money. I miss those Frogs, and may go back, or to the Speedplay Zeros. I'm also planning on hitting the Lotto next week.

BMX pedal
I use a BMX pedal on my bikes. I use wellgo since they are cheap and hold up well for me. Thinking of making a move to clipless.

I use the Shimano SPDs on most of my bikes and have started using the cheap M520s. They work just fine and I found them online at $35.
