But.. with respect.. your the one bing-ing... right? Maybe your plan at present is just in the end a way to make this 'diet' cycle run it's course.. so you can get back to being a fat-ass.

The post per including more protein is spot on.. kills the carvings.. for most. Changing your eating habits is a life choice.. I agree with some, trying to cut your calorie intake to low is a recipe for disaster. If you try and lose weight too fast you will just gain back even more. Ask me how I know. By taking it slow and looking at it as a life choice instead of a "Diet" you will have much better results. I have been using a Weight Watchers plan and have lost 70 lbs. in the last year. That's a little over a pound a week. I'm down to 195 and it feels great. We all have days where we eat too much, but I just put it behind me as the past has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm eating NOW! The more you make wise food choices, the easier it becomes. Just keep it at.

Also what people forget is that everyone is different. So what works for 1 might not work for another. One person MIGHT be able to get away with 1500 cals, while another person of the same weigth can not.

***EDIT

I might now be in the second half of the 1500 cal intake that I just posted. I will find out in a few days.
I am the same size as you and 206 at current. I have a large body frame and its hard as hell to no eat at night. I end up drinking more water and I'm working on getting myself to work out twice a day. I figure I can eat more if I workout more. I have come down from 260 so I'm going slowly. These last 6 pounds to sub 200 are killing me. Don't feel alone in your struggle. Its taken me two months to be able to even function on sub 1800 cals a day. Its not something you can jump into. I suggest if you want to do low cal then you have to ease into it. I got a food diary app for my iphone and it keeps me in check with snacking and meals.

You know what they say, when you fall off the horse, you get right up in it's face and punch it a few times, then get back on it.

For me, failures come when I eat carbs + carbs + carbs. Success comes when I eat a mix of fat and protein, with some carbs to go with it.

Straight protein helps curb my appetite; fat along with it seems to keep the cravings away longer. By 'fat', I mean typically 'good' fats - nuts, dairy, etc... The recent Greek yogurt craze has been a godsend. I'm hoping Agro Farma (the makers of Chobani) goes public, so I can buy some stock.

I understad your advice, and everyones for that matter is trying to help. The first thing is I have to help myself before anything sets in. This includes if you noticed my edit on the post you quoted ME rethinking each and everything I do with trying to lose weight. This may include eating just a little more (even though I think I figured out what brough about my bindge).

As of now I am doing more thinking on this, and less worrying about what I did wrong. I will possibly add a few more cals to my diet, but thats tough. This whole things sucks for me as I a Italian, and have given up pasta, pizza, and all that good stuff (its killing me).

I feel we should be less combative with riders who are posting their experiences with diet etc. We all struggle with weight (that's why we are here) and I dont see the benefit in possibly scaring/insulting people with the "brutal truth" approach. I can guarantee that at some point you've eaten way more than the OP reported. Just my 2c...

There are days when I have lost control and ended up eating way too much, it happens to everyone for various reasons. If you are doing it once a week or soemthing, then it might be diet related. For me, 9 ouf 10 times it is stress related, not necessarily too much or too little of a particular type of food. All you can do at that point is start over the next day and not worry about the past. It took me years to come to that realization because of an all or nothing attitude. Once I slipped, I would give up because "I blew it and will never be able to keep it up". We all stumble, those who succeed are the ones who just get up, dust themselves off and keep on moving.

Most of my original post was just venting about my disapointment in myself. At times if I do not vent, I tend to repeat the mistake. This way I did get to see it, look at it, and think about what I did wrong. It also helps to have other peoples input, even if some are kind of disrespectfull... with all do respect.

For the record... I am not all that fat assed. I stand 6'1" and weigh 228 (on a bad day). I have a waist size of 36, which is down from what it used to be a 42. This is where most of my fat is, and I want it down to a 30/32.

Really? It is a Clydesdale Forum you know. Im a fat-ass, I just dont think its helpful if I was reminded in such an "honest" fashion.

P.S. Im thick-skinned. Being labelled a fat ass doesnt bother me - Im more concerned about the lurker out there who wants to be part of the forums but isnt sure the labeling is the most comforting.

"Really? It is a Clydesdale Forum you know."

You mean.. then.. like those horses.. right? Or some.. what.. creature from mythology?

IF you brand yourself 'tween your ears as such... you always will be.. emotionally a fat--ass. Safety in herd numbers.. "oh bla dee.. oh bla ta".. all that rot.

Rather than.. just a human being with a weight issue.. if that really IS the issue.

Being overweight does NOT have to be unhealthy.. by miles. Lots and lots of very healthy 'overweight people'.. accepting their genetic fate. The issue doe not rule their lives.

Eating bad once isn't a problem. In fact, its proven that people who cheat on there....we will say meal plans since diet is a bad word, typically have a better, more successful weight loss journey. That being said, you don't want to do it more then once a week. There is also the route of just balancing it into your work out. Do more the next day to make up for it. Now, if your like me and your go to bad food is salty snackie foods. I have found that getting the medium sized tub of greek yogurt and mixing in one packet of ranch dressing(the dry stuff you use to make your own) with some veggies or even good wheat crackers does a great job and feeding that crave. Also, its a darn good healthy snack.

Also, Clydesdale is a height and weight class, not a "fat" class.

I break down all the time. Yesterday I made American cake. Because I live in the Netherlands, cake here is this hard pound-cake like stuff with heavy spice. American cake is a giant treat now. I have to go into Groningen to the Oriental grocery to get it and it's nearly 6 dollars for a box!!! Anyway... I only get American cake about once every two or three months.

So... bad on me.... I eat 1/3 the cake over two days. Luckily I have family to devour the rest... but God.. was that cake delish.

I had been pretty good all week. Fruit and veggies for breakfast and lunch, real meal for dinner. A few small snacks here and there.... yesterday...... bad, bad, bad... that cake was sooo tasty. Happens to the best of us.

I still treat myself occasionally, but luckily the cravings and the satisfaction from eating junk are diminishing. Case in point: last night I bought a small bag of Red Hot flavored Valentine jellybeans. My feeling after eating some of those was "meh, that wasn't all that".

Luckily, I think mountain biking is an even better way to lose weight than road cycling. I noticed my belly has been smaller ever since last week's MTB sufferfest. There has been an increase in people telling me that I'm losing a lot of weight. One neighbor lady told me jokingly "if you keep losing weight there won't be any of you left".

I will make up for last night's jellybeans with another MTB sufferfest today.

You and me both! I had some yesterday, in fact. 420 calories worth (two 210 calorie bags), so I only needed to eat half as much real food for dinner as I normally would. Looked in the mirror this morning and my belly looks slimmer in spite of the salty meal, which can cause bloating.
