If i knew that i would have rode down there last weekend than this weekend. During the summer that trail gets so packed i avoid it like the plague on the weekends.
glad you liked my city too mant great places to eat, hence the reason im in the clyde forum.

You gonna eat that?
My wife did a personal best for distance this weekend. TWICE. Her previous longest ride was 13 miles. She did 14 on Saturday, and Monday (Memorial Day) morning, we rode to breakfast; total distance of 22 miles! Considering she said she'd never ride, this is quite an accomplishment. Oh... and the bikes (and us) near water; this is a pond at the corner of our subdivision. The breakfast ride would have given us 18 miles, but she wanted to say she rode 20, so we rode out to the pond before going home.

I have to admit, I have never understood the theme of this thread ... but, I think this qualifies.

The Columbia River - this is the one that Canada's "British Columbia" (my neighbor to the north) is named after.

Nice plug there, and not just the ones in the handle bars =). That might just be what I need since I can't wear my Holland football Jersey until at least Brazil 2014 =(.

Yes, that's a flue with water in it---hey, I live in the desert! This flue was part of the Mexican Ditch that diverted water from the Carson river to power the stamp mills processing the Comstock ore from Virginia City.

Enjoy the water if not the bike... it's western L.I. Sound taken from Sands Point, LI., with Co-op City the Bronx in the background. Humidity clouds moving in but some interesting optical effects.
CLICK TO ENLARGE. (as the bishop said to the actress)
Dig the tupperware-type water bottle :O !! The rest of the bike is homebuilt.
So as not to embarass my teenage son, today I wore MTB shorts over my spandex-filling-clydesdale mass. Maybe worth a few good dad points. I was a # lighter after the ride, down to 206.5
Here's junior G holding my bike while I prop his up against a rock.
Amazing to think I looked just like this when I was his age. Well, minus the shoulders he has developed from martial arts and weight lifting, windsurfing and paddleboarding.
We both do all those sports, but as household king of the barbecue I have added epicurean, beer, and oenological triathlon to the mix.
Oddly my Garmin registered a top speed of 24,896 mph!! with 4 spurts to 120 mph. What is up with that??
Full story about garmin satellite tractor beams and alien abduction near misses on this ride, here.

Smart phone pictures of two of my bikes by the ocean:
The Bottecchia, at Point Mugu Rock, on PCH. (There is a very steep drop off into the ocean and rocks below, hence the "death grip" on the bike's handlebar):
The Colnago, at Leo Carillo beach, also on PCH. (No steep drop offs here, just a nice, family beach--except no dogs are allowed):
