Welcome to the Weekly Inspiration Network!
Since many of us do a better job of sticking to our goals if we have a little public accountability, here's a way to get some support for your efforts towards a healthier you.
If this is your first time posting, let us know what is is you're trying to do, where you are now, and what your goal is. You might be trying to lose weight, or exercise more regularly, or home-cook more meals, or even spend more quality time with your family.
Then every week, let us know how you did the week before.
We'll read each others posts & cheer each other on.
Oh, and if Monday comes around and no one has started the new thread for the week yet -- feel free to copy this post, change the numbers and dates in the title, and get things started. Thanks!

OK, so I didn't get this up last week. Sorry about that. So I'm getting a head start on next week.
Here's my goal for the week: riding at least 3 days during the workweek, plus the weekend. (I've been spending so much time working on the new bike it seems like I've forgotten to actually ride!)

I have not been on the bike in awhile as I am traveling again. We just reached our Iowa spring home so I should be able to get some good riding in next week. I haven't run for several days either, hard to do when traveling.
Weight is relatively stable at 103. I am having to be really careful with the calories given my lack of exercise and eating out. Last week I was trending up and I am showing a calorie excess based on weight trends over the last couple of weeks. My weight low a couple of weeks ago was 101 and change.
Well, off to pump up the bike tires. I don't plan on riding much today, I am tired for days of travel.

Weight up to 212# from 210# low ate a lot of food yesterday and almost a whole jar of skiippy natural peanut butter for a snack. Had to burn some off on an easy ride this morning. Goals for week track diet, weight and try to let my foot heel. Happy Easter all.

First the stats:
1/2/12: 227.5, BMI 35.1 (start)
4/9/12: 189, BMI 29.2
weight loss this past week: 3 lbs.
I guess I haven't officially been a clyde for a few weeks now, and I'm not even a terribly fat pony anymore. But I've still got about 30-35 lbs to go to my goal, so I'm still a clyde at heart.
Milestones:
1) Got a new scale, and it's awsome. Really accurate, consistent, with 0.1 lbs precision. A compulsive's nightmare!
2) Took my first real ride on my new (to me, anyway, pretty old actually) Bianchi Advantage hybrid - a recent CL purchase. I still want to replace the shifters, brake pads (both of which arrived last week, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet). And I need to replace the chain as well, which I'm ordering.
I LOVE THIS BIKE! The gearing and geometry will be great for touring, and it's really comfortable for just riding around. It came with one of those saddles with the hole cut out to relieve taintal pressure, and I think I'm converted! NO TINGLING OR NUMBNESS AT ALL in a more than 2 hour ride!!! I'm thinking of swapping the handlebars for trekking bars (maybe swap with my errand bike - the trekking bars are overkill for what I use that for nowadays), but haven't decided for sure - will probably try bar ends for a while to see if that does the trick.

I'm brand new to this group and just getting back into cycling after 20 years.I had a few false starts with bikes that did not fit or were to cheaply made to be fun or useful.I talked to some wonderful folks here and decided to get my old bike overhauled. I'm at 325 I think, my scale only goes to 320 and 6' tall confirmed. My goals are basic I wish to get to 275.I will get a accurate weight and re-post as soon as my bike is back from the shop.

I played around with intervals over which to track trends, and I've settled on 30 days. It's short enough to be sensitive, yet long enough not to be dominated by the noise of water weight, etc. I did experiment with weekly and 15 day trends, and found they were essentially useless - way too noisy.
Yeah. I did that too. Those tenth of a pound losses, I'll hang on to that!
