So today was my last day off before I head back to work. I took off excited to make the best of my last day,r a nice solid ride had been planned for around noon, and I wasn't about to let the 20-30 mph with gusts as high as 45mph ruin my plans. So I headed out. The first two or three miles went just fine, not my favorite part of my ride, a little bit of traffic, but its the only way out into the "Country" so i'll take it. Things we're going well until I found myself behind one of these :

Lovely right? and yes thats manure. Dripping wet from its days worth of work I'm. Seeing as it was being pulled by a Tractor on a big open, empty rode, and with 30mph winds at my back I figured, I could pass it easily as It was at the time only going about 10mph. However, the farmer thought it rather funny to try to speed up and swing out in front of me with his poop-mobile each time I made an attempt. It didn't take me long to just give up slow down, and take the next turn off possible, however, that led me into Ten straight miles of serious hills, as those 45mph gust really picked up, the sort that on a climb slow you nearly to a stop,(on the steepest climb my computer clocked me at 2mph) and ruin even the greatest of downhills (I was wearing a wind breaker, which worked more like a Parachute today).

Rough Ride, but I had a blast!

Any other experiences of really crumby rides that you still enjoyed anyway simply for the love of cycling?

Note, While the Machine was not launching the Manure, as it is in the picture, I assure I had to dodge plenty of pieces.

LOL.... Living out in the farm lands of Ma., I have had to dodge a machine of this or 2 in my time. (Sarcasm)Its best when you're behind them, the wind is in your face (and the smell), and they are dropping the manure all over the road. (End/Sacasm)

We get similar things around here happen with the double Decker cattle trucks ........ that is a smell enough to kill a grown man from 20 paces .
