If you use speedplays... I found a neat-o product
called keep on covers:
https://www.keeponkovers.com/Photo-Gallery.html
I think I saw somebody on the road forum reference them but my least favorite part of my speed plays (light action stainless) is the stupid metal cleats and how they get chewed up through normal use AND they're slippery on cement or asphalt.
Anyway, I've used these twice - I forgot I put them on actually - and I"m pretty happy with them. Traction is pretty good and they don't affect my use of the cleat at all. They're made out of a sort of hard plastic and just snap on over the cleat... leave 'em on forever if you want.
Anyway, I'm not affiliated with the company at all, just thought I'd mention it in case it benefits anybody else. I had a set of those speed play cafe covers but of course, I lost them.

Sounds a lot nicer than the cafe covers that you have to put on and take off. But none available for the x series speedplay.

The cafe covers are OK but you have to remember where you put them. and of course, who's putting them on every time you stop? I didn't really notice the X restriction since I use light action now... the cleats are very similar, I wonder why they don't say they'll fit?

While I don't care much for clipless this product adds a nice measure of safety to make them worth having.

I ordered some today. My new cleats are getting messed up already and I have only worn them 3 times.

I ordered these last week - work great. Clip onto my Zeros and my shoes snap into the speedplays just fine. Nice thing is they protect the cleat when walking and add at least some grip.
A+ from me.

I agree - the more I use them the less I notice them except that walking is 42 times easier.
