The 2012 tour part one.

I tell the tourist I don't tour which is correct if I'm one the bicycle I'm going somewhere. What I do is test to show it's possible for a clydesdale to tour with out breaking the bike. Starting out in Sierra Vista Arizona 1st of Feb heading to Las Cruces New Mexico then Taos to Trinidad Colorado to Garden City Kansas then highway 83 to Bismark North Dakota May 13. This was a slow tour because I was waiting for the weather to warm up. When it gets cold I will head south as fast as possible. I broke a chain shortly into the tour this forced the derailer into the spokes pulling a flat spot in the rim I continued to use the wheel through the tour after replacing 1 spoke. The break was caused by climbing a 12 percent grade into tombstone using a 24 front and 39 rear. I hit 53 mph leaving Tombstone. The crank an old Shimano 74mm 110mm is starting to creak and I striped out the crank arm trying to pull it off. New tires were bought in Las Cruces Bell sports roundabouts available at Walmart Kmart Target etc. They were $20 are 26 by 1.75 rated at 65 psi run with 65 psi in the front and 78 psi in the rear and thorn tubes. Amazingly there were no flats. Didn't lose any weight I run around 210 and should drop down to 195. Acid reflux is interfering with my weight loss I have to eat something when it hits.
