I was riding in 98 degree heat today. The worst part was sweat burning my eyes. A sweat band seams too bulky. Any suggestions?

I'll be looking for answers here, too. I've been about half-blinded the last few rides, and, for me anyway, a Headsweats beanie does nothing.

Halo Headband or a dew rag. Only way I will ride when it warms up. I ended up with an eye infection, from rubbing the sweat out of my eyes.

Take a look at the Sweat Gutr or Halo Headbands. I currently have a Headsweats cap that I use and will pre-soak, but it's only good for about 45 minutes if it's really hot and humid before the sweat starts running into my eves. After checking out more reviews I'll be ordering one of the products I mentioned. So far I'm leaning more towards Halo headband.

I use Halo and it helps, but they aren't perfect. Still use the back of my gloves to wipe the forehead as needed, just needed less.

Halo is what I use. Snot is the problem for me - I usually just plug one nose and blow - but I also usually ride alone

I use a Headsweats band and a Halo band. Both seem to work equally well, but they have limitations, such as when you sweat enough in the area beneath the band and that gets in your eyes, but that's rare for me. I also have a Headsweats cap, but it's a little too tight, so I hardly ever wear it. Works well enough though.

Another happy user of the Halo headband here. The do start to get saturated after an hour or so; if it gets to be a problem I'll carry a dry spare.

I sweat prousely and have found the GUTR tob very effective at channeling the sweat away from my eyes.
I bought mine on Amazon for less than $10. Definitely recommended.

Headband. There is one other tip, which is to smear some Vaseline across the lower part of your forehead just above your eyebrows. This helps route the sweat round the sides of your face rather than straight down into your eyes. Not a total answer, but does help.

I have had good results with Halo sweatbands. However, when sweat is profusely running down into my face its time to wring out the sweat saturated front helmet pads. Stop and squeeze out the sweat from the pads then use a paper towel to further blot out the sweat. Seems to work well for me any way.

I've found that polyester? "do-rags" help or a cycling cap helps as the sweats tends to drip down the bill, Now, I know you’ll think this is "crazy" when it's really hot I wear 2 layers of wool ( jersey and base layer, 2 layers of synthetics work but not as well) NOW HERE'S THE "TRICK" keep the wool WET by dripping water down your neck, (font, sides and back), and/or put a wet sponge down the back of your collar and the wool becomes a radiator. Believe it or not- on 100 degree plus days the skin on my side(s) feels cool to the touch and I've actually gotten "cold" on descents, I always carry at least two bottles and have carried as many as six, 2 on the frame, 1 on the bars, 2 in holsters, 1 in back pocket, I prefer the smaller size and will reserve and carry a large bottle on the down tube just for wetting the jerseys (and cap). When I use this "system" I don't seem to sweat nearly as much. ( Mixing a llittle cologne, aftershave or alcohol with the "wetting" water will even keep you a little cooler as it will evaporate faster)

I go all the way old school w/ a rolled up bandana tied around my head. After about an hour I have to wring it out.

I put a folded handkerchief inside my cycling helmet, which serves two purposes.

Firstly it keeps the sun off the top of my head. Where my hair is thinning the last thing I want is a checkerboard pattern of sunburn. Any sunburn on the top of my head is Not Fun, especially when it comes to showering.

Secondly it soaks up sweat which then drips from the lowest points. Those are the corners, which are either side of where my eyes are. It's quite rare for me to get sweat down my face but every once in a while I do get a drop on the inner face of my sunglasses.

The biggest downside of this approach is that if I take my helmet off it feels really nasty putting it back on again...

Try SweatVac. I admit to having not tried the others, but these have been great for me. Beanies, sweatbands, do-rags. and all kinds of other things. Try them out.

Another recommendation for the Halo. I wear the head bands low because I sweat like a pig. I break a sweat walking up stairs. I have them just above my eye brows, if I wear them higher the sweat pouring out btwn the head band and my eye brows gets into my eyes. I may look funny but at least my eyes aren't burning.

I've had good luck with "Headsweats Topless". It's a band that is made out of some type of terrycloth material. That absorbs the sweat pretty well. I usually carry a spare, or two if it is really hot, in a ziplock so it will stay dry. If I swap one out, I'll hang it over my gooseneck while I'm riding and it dries out within about ten minutes. They are thin enough that they fit under my helmet easily without having to re-adjust the straps. I don't ride without one; cold, hot, or in perfect cycling weather.

p.s. I purchased a Halo for cross country skiing, but don't like the neoprene aspect of it. It does not seem to divert/absorb as much sweat as the Headsweat.

Halo Protex bandana. Keeps sweat out of my eyes and prevents my hair from getting too messed up. Great for lunchtime rides!

I tried a number of solutions to reduce the burning sensation of sweat in my eyes. Then I started forcing myself to drink water far more often. I probably sweat as much as I ever did, but now the sweat doesn't affect my eyes at all.

I love my Halo... for some reason I sweat alot from the top of my head and it gets in my eyes. the Halo has a nice thin band with a channel that directs sweats away from my face. It's light and comfortable. I don't know its on and it cleans up easily.

The most important thing for me is not having something on my head that is thick or tight; I don't want to know there is anything there. Halo fits that bill...
