I credit TH on focusing on bike and including a mtn as even if not all of us are doing climbs like GMR, many of us are riding a bike to conquer weight/health issues that can seem insurmountable like a mountain.

Then what would be the sense of having a clyde forum? or even a clyde ride?

I say leave out the fat but I'm proud to be a CLYDE!

Wording referencing Clydes/Athenas is good....and wanted as otherwise missing point...but maybe step back from the fat references as Vesteroid says.

I will always be an Athena even when I reach my goal weight. I'm not petite....and proud of my inherent athletic build.

OK, I will NOT be drawing anything because I'm no artist. I'll poke around and see what I can find as far as clipart. Anyone else is welcome too, as well.

I agree with getting away from the "fat" theme. I'm doing things at this point to amuse myself and to stir up conversation and draw out ideas.

I found a few things that look interesting to me:

I could swap out the mtn bike for a roadie pretty easily.

Will look for more ideas tomorrow.

I myself like action images of a horse to represent a clyde. A sketch type pic, not too much detail but outline sketch type.

Mayb even just the upper body like the second pic circled.

Maybe not as detailed but a sketch or outline something like this

And yes, that is GMR/GRR on the way to the village

Alright, I'm really not digging the horse, and I really think Vesteroid is on it with avoiding focusing on being fat - we're working on it dammit!

i LIKE that second image Beanz posted with Gina riding up the road... but I'm thinking more stylized so you can't recognize individuals and a bunch more people doing the riding and we're on to something. Puffy clouds, snow capped mountains & a bunch of cyclists.

Put C&A down the side of the jersey. make the mountains greener so it appeals to more than just us So Cal peeps.

maybe you have to earn the jersey by riding to the village (or a roughly equivalent ride for our pals in far away states & lands).

This is going to be interesting...a jersey designed by committee.

What about a red and white jersey, with the profile of a mountain climb and the letters HTFU superimposed across the profile.

On each sleeve the C & A logo.

I agree with TH and the others--no referencess to fat, fatness or weight is necessary.

Just playing with ideas. I haven't played with any mountains, yet. I like the symbolism of the mountain. I also like the line art cyclist I used here because it's so generic.

The open space on the pockets is screaming for a good tag line. Otherwise, simply Clydesdales and Athenas is just hanging there....sort of like what's the point in making the jersey. Just my opinion.

I know designing this by committee is going to be tough, however, we need to make a minimum order just to have them made. I want to make sure we end up with something good enough that enough people will order.

And I know "On Your Right" is upside down.

How I view it is the mountain is both REAL and METAPHORICAL as it is an obstacle to conquer/overcome much like getting fit and in many cases on her thinner. Conquering what seems to be the impossible.

I have faith that the design will be worked in such a way that it is inclusive to all C/A riders.

I like the sprocket (?) and bike design here.

Tag line...hmmm.... I'm terrible at this stuff but here are a few that popped into my head

"Yes I Can"

"Nothing is impossible"

"Conquering the Impossible"

Tho these are probably lame compared to what we could come up with....

I may be wrong, but I seem to recall the story is that Beanz did the ride, but the jersey didn't fit, so Gina wears it. At least that's what I think happened.

Neither rotation is right or wrong. I don't believe there is a definitive standard as to right-rotated or left rotated. I recall reading somewhere that left rotated text (90 CCW) allowed folks to comprehend the word faster. Book spines are right reading (90 CW). Marquee text, that is letters on top of each other i.e.

M
A
R
Q
U
E
E

took users longer to comprehend.

Myself, I prefer the way you have the logos...

My issue with the "on your right" orientation is that as you're leaning over in a riding position, especially in the drops, it would be upside down.
