Get new PR and +1mph on your Strava Segment
I accomplished this yesterday. Its really quite easy.
First start your normal ride segment.
Second have a three dog pack pace you for 1.5 miles.
While the female pit bull was eyeing my left foot, I was much more concerned with the other pit bull that was running in front of my front wheel. On the way back I saw the dogs in a construction vehicle yard, with razor wire on top of the fence. I went and had a few words with the attendant on duty. I'll be picking up some pepper spray.

nothing like an adrenaline rush to boost your performance... I can see it now: the next PED 'dogs in a can'... Glad you made it through intact.

That's scary. From the earliest days, (been cycling for fifty-something years now), I've gone down on my bike a total of three times. One due to sand in the road. The other two times involved dogs!
Funny thing about this. Once you go down, the dogs stop chasing you and back away.

I hope they would back away, but these are junk yard dogs. Usually they aren't the throw the stick kinda dogs. I have a part pit bull dog that wouldn't hurt anyone, but I picked her out of a pack at the shelter. I could see she was never going to be alpha. The ***** on my left leg was alpha and serious. I'm glad she wasn't the one in front, he was kinda of a dopey why are we running with this guy. Anyway next time she will learn what pepper spray is all about.
Beanz, I did ask the guy if HE would like to ride my bike with those "gentle" watch dogs. He didn't seem keen on the idea.

Gina and I were walking for exercise few months back. Mid block on one of the streets we walked was a HUGE Dalmation tied to a patio support in front of a house. Not much yard so the dog was only 15 yards away. I thought Dalmations were friendly dogs but this sucker was going crazy, jumping up and down, trying to tear the support down to get at us.
I picked up a huge rock just in case the dog got loose but I told Gina keep walking. Vicious looking dog!
The next day we walked, we walked about an extra mile just to avoid that street. I don't care who is right or wrong, I ain't setting up Gina to get mauled. I run faster!

I just bought pepper spray. We ride at 5am and in an area that is both desolate and coyotes are quite common. I just feel better being careful. Plan on never having to use it!

Never had a problem with them till the night GMR ride we did last Saturday night. Nothing like and attack, but being at the shack at night darkness, I stepped in coyote poop and didn't know till a couple days later when I looked at my shoes. One of those "something stinks but I don't know what" rides.

Sounds like it's time to call animal control about aggressive dogs loose without a leash.
