The "I Probably Shouldn't Have Eaten That" Thread!

noodly appendage
I'm on the Southern Baptist Paleo diet, which means I try to be strictly paleo and I tell people how awesome paleo is, but when no one is looking I tend to cheat a little. (I'm allowed to make that joke. If it offends you, you are probably not a Southern Baptist.)
So this morning when I discovered we had no eggs in the fridge, my obvious solution was donut shop. What's that you say? The donut shop is right next to the grocery store (which is chock full of eggs)? How about you mind your own beeswax?
So anyway, four donuts later and my 20 mile ride felt like a century (both in time and distance). Need to remember that next time. Because there will be a next time.

Donuts have eggs in them so they're basically the same thing. Next time, eat one donut every 5 miles.

I would have thought this was a catholic thread. everyone is eating things they know they shouldn't, and coming on here to confess them.

I won't stop in for doughnuts unless there is a parking spot right in the front.
It may take me several times around the parking lot but a spot usually opens up sooner or later

I do it the other way around : I ride the extra 10 miles and then reward myself with something I shouldn't eat. Last night I had 1/2 apple pie with melt cheese (sound weird but is very good) It's the same result but without the guilty feeling!

I am not sure what a half a pie with cheese means in canada, but if its anything like what a typical american pie is, you burned an additional 300 calories by riding another ten miles, and ate an additional 2000?

If Yo Spiff had been with me, I probably wouldn't have stopped at El Tacolote on the way home from the Sunday Night Ride
and I wouldn't have had a couple tacos.

This Florida boy with Indiana family is quite familiar with the sugar cream pie (gonna make the holidays rough). Nutella is a frequent offender, as is pizza. But right now, its the "Pumpkin spice eggnog"...the yuletide crack, that is my nemesis. I don't like eggnog, but add in the pumpkin and spice, and it's like drinking a pumpkin pie. I could easily drink a quart at a time, maybe fill the water bottles with it? I hate drinking that many calories.

The holidays are coming. What food(s) will you miserably fail at avoiding?
For me: Cookies. Whether they're shaped like turkeys or Christmas trees, since I'll probably be making them, I will both be eating them and be sick of them all at the same time.

Well Deer Camp always kills my diet. We had chili, Pork chops, pork burgers, bacon, sausage, eggs, chocolate chip cookies, and top all this off with fried potatoes/onions with EVERY meal. Plus I did not ride my bike for a week, so today I am making preparations for a 20 mile ride. I need to get back on the horse.

Thanksgiving vacation didn't do my diet much good. Despite jogging while I was away, I managed to completely fail at avoiding: chocolate covered caramel macadamia clusters, chocolate covered almonds, Klondike bars, Poppycock, Stone Cold Steve Austin's Ice Creamery, and whatever other snacks I shouldn't have eaten so much of. BTW, none of these foods made my run times drop. Instead, they added time which sucks even more. There's no respite from temptation til the new year at least. Oh well.

The problem is, who's opinion of nasty? You have the anti-sugar camp and the anti-fat camp (and maybe something else, I didn't look up the ingredients in Nutella, but IIRC isn't mostly palm oil and sugar)

I probably could've gone w/o the 2nd slices of chocolate mousse cake and triple chocolate mousse cake. And the 2nd slice of chocolate babka french toast. And maybe I should've trimmed the fat off the ribs. And the prime rib. And the 2nd helpings of everything. But damn, it all tasted so good!
