GMR, SART and SGRT fans...
Get out of your comfort zone, get in your cars and head West to lovely Ventura County to ride Cruisin' the Conejo - 2013. The ride, organized by the Conejo Valley cyclists is now in its 28th year.
There are four routes, from an easy 35 miles scenic route to a very challenging century. The century ride offers tough climbs, including the famed Rock Store climb featured in the Tour de California, a long segment on beautiful PCH and rolling hills along Ventura County's strawberry fields, avocado and orange groves and alpaca ranches. Sag support is fantastic and there is an end of ride BBQ that, alone, is well worth the price of admission. The ride is on Saturday, May 11...so you will all have plenty of time to get ready for it. Ah, that's hard on the heels of the tour de cure, which means we should all be in good shape for cruisin'.
I'll calender it up but I have to check with the Central Planning Authority to see what my kids are up to. I have a limited pool of "I'll be gone all day goofing off on my bike" availability. :) |
I'm not able to commit at this time. Training for La Bella Preme (6/1) and doing tour de cure in April. Plus currently unemployed and don't know what my availability for events will be like. I will keep this in mind tho.

I may just do this one, thinking metric so I can spend time sightseeing. Maybe we can get a convoy going that way, team C/A. I would do any of the routes if we go as a group.

I think you might be on to something there jeep...
The top "loop" of the century - is that interesting or is that just additional mileage? The 67 mile metric looks like it's mostly the top loop of the century and the 62 mile challenging century looks like it's the interesting part of the century with an extra trip back over the mountains. I could definitely be talked into that one. |
