Birthday Ride with Team Unlikely Cyclist - Rode my Age
Yesterday was my 48th birthday. We rode my age on a route I have been wanting to do with Lisa (Vntgdrms who owns The Unlikely Cyclist).

My teammates with Unlikely Cyclist made it one of my best birthdays EVER. They schemed and planned all week via Facebook. They all wore something pink because I like pink and to honor my mom who died of breast cancer in 1988 (25 years ago). They got a Tiara for my helmet, a pink fuzzy button to pin on my shirt and they made a birthday race bib to pin on the back of my jersey.
They also got me a boa but that was NOT going to happen while I ride LOL
Action shot showing the bib number:
And because I'm proud of the miles I have put in...I love this shot of my calf:
At turnaround spot in San Clemente (coffee shop...I forget the name).
Here is the group (most of it anyway...we were missing two riders who started ride but had to abandon the ride 1. mechanical issue for Lisa (rock was kicked up into her cassette and destroyed her hub. ) and 2. plans by another rider resulted in her cutting the ride short.
And the cake with the sign on it that says "Make Those Hills Your B***H!"

Haha, I noticed that calf muscle before seeing your remarks.
I thought: Yes, no wonder you are riding so well. You have been working hard and have earned your successes.

Sounds like an awesome experience for our birthday! I'm turning 39 on Sunday and plan on trying the same thing solo on Friday. Furthest I've ventured so far is 22 miles.... so it should be fun!
Congrats again on the awesome experience!
