I rode 3.6 miles today. I was hoping to do closer to 5, but I went out way to fast. It was my first ride in about 6 months, so I was ready to go. (plus there is no bike computer yet to tell me I'm going to fast)
I do have a brand new bike, a Trek 7.2, and this was my first ride on it. I think the bike fit is good, and I love how crisp the shifting is. I am happy with the bike, and that is the important thing. I'll get 5 miles in Thursday, and hopefully 7 or so this weekend. I need to ease into it a bit, so this month I may not get as many miles as I would have liked.

4/1 - 24.66 This involved a short climb that took me down to the lowest gear and 6MPH. Can't believe how smooth this new bike is when you're working it hard.
4/2 - 23.39 I wanted to see how I would do on a small climb that's part of a 32 mile ride this weekend. I know it's not much but it took everything I had for 70+ feet (is that really all it was? ) in a half mile. It was a much longer climb than yesterday, but maybe not as steep.
MTD - 48.05

100% rain next two days label them maintenance days. getting built up for the warm week end!
Most of my rides are grueling as I am running in a deep calorie deficit to loose weight. Today was energetic coming off the back of a cheat day (read busted a Buffet) yesterday. So it was go go go today. Hills shmills I ate em up. Did 20 with energy to spare.
Pledged 120 -12 = 108 Remaining (4/1) (Peugeot) (9.8 avg/1:12:57) (Strong headwind)
Remaining 108 - 20 = 88 Remaining (4/3) (96 Rockhopper) (computer went dead avg ~10 mph)

4/3: first time on the bike since mid March. All of 5 miles on the Terry Classic that I have been rehabbing. Nice bike! But it needs a better saddle.

4/4 - 26.66
mtd - 100.89
ytd - 1316.12
Saw a stick across the path today on my ride. Realized as I got closer it was a rattlesnake, mere inches away from me. Yikes! Time to find another route, this one goes along the riverbed, and it's apparently snake season. Alrighty then.

4/4 - 54.1 miles. Perfect day for riding. I'm still slow but my fitness and stamina are improving. I had more left in my legs but I had to cut it short so I could get cleaned up to take my wife out for her birthday.
