Non Ride Report and Sat Nite Fun (Gina sings video)

A little non ride report. Sometimes you gotta have fun in other ways besides cycling.

Some friends invited us over to their place to have some fun with the guitars. Herb Plays Base, well he did 20 years ago. We tried and it turned out to be lots of fun.

In the process of setting up a mic someone blurted out Oh S*** so I had to put chords to it. Had some fun with it, a few bloopers then Gina sings Wild Thing while I "try" to play guitar.

I can't believe how hard it is to sing and play at the same time. Doing other sings I had the words right in front of me and I still screwed them up ha ha!

Part of the fun is that Herb is VERY shy and quiet so getting a reaction out of him is funny. And Alyce, she's full of laughter.

Contains the word "shoot" with an "i" minus the double "O"

This is the short video. There is a longer video in my blog of other songs, bloopers and laughs.

Good times. Those impromptu sessions can be a blast!

I knew I liked Herb for some reason! I "play bass" too. That means I have a bass and I make a "joyful noise" with it. Once a month we do a thing for K-6 graders at our church. We have a blast, but I'm NOT good. I tried singing while playing ONCE. Never again. I have to concentrate too hard on screwing up the bass to add singing in, too.

Maybe it's just me, but when I see people on here out of their cycling gear, no helmet or sunglasses kind of deal, they always look weird and different to me.

Nice video, looks like you had fun. Makes me want to dust off and tune my acoustic.

And that is why I wear my helmet and glasses. Not a safety thing. It's because I look weird and different without them!

Yeah, singing and playing is tough to do, I try but I more make noise than music. Heck, with the words and chords right in front of me, it's still hard to follow along. Lots of bloopers to play around with though.

I've been watching people play at "open mic" night at Sam Ash and my those people are good! I can only wish.

Oh yeah. We started a bit slow but worked our way in. If you notice the long version video, it was daylight out when we started and dark at the end. Started at 3:30, went and had dinner then played more till 10 pm. Lots of fun!

I think I learned two things today

1) Beanz really can play the guitar!
2) PhotoJoe will be accompanying him on bass as we ride up GMR Saturday.
3) Chicks dig guys who play guitar
4) My math skills are rusty.

Is that because 1 +2 doesn't really equal 3 in this case?

No, but I forgot you featured Herb playing bass too. That's three guitars, Gina can sing... now who can ride and play drums?

My 15 yo grandson can play the drums. I want to get together with him for a whirl. Otherwise I'm thinking of getting her a tambourine.

Alyce is learning to play the accordion. Only knows Pop Goes the Weasel as of now. But she's says she's looking for the sheet music to the songs we were playing so she can play along.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who understand math, and those who don't.

We'll get JSIGONE to carry the generator, amps and speaker cabs.

We went to Sam Ash to check out the tambourines.

Not bad, $15. Had some real expensive stuff but the $15 is all we need. Gina says seh's not interested in making noise but 5 minutes after we have the tambourine home..............
