Cycling Apparel

Hello! I have a question regarding cycling clothing for larger people. I am not an athlete, but I do like to ride my bike. I'm an overweight female at 5'6, 167 lbs. I have bought clothing from Terry and from Team Estrogen, and I am getting very frustrated. I used the sizing charts and still receive products that look like small sizes. I understand that jerseys are not supposed to be loose fitting, and I can accept some tightness, but not compression! Do any of you ladies have suggestions of companies that sell clothing true to size? Thank you for any help you can offer.

As this has languished in General for two days without any feedback, I decided to move it here in the hopes someone will be kind enough to help her out.

I bought a SheBeest jersey from TE that i really like, it is just solid blue, and a fairly relaxed fit compared to other jerseys. I also got some Pearl Izumi jersey's from Performance that were nice.

You probably need to go up a size or two. In addition, read the product description. I think jerseys usually come in "race fit" (tight!!), semi-fitted or club fit (fitted, but not tight) and sometimes you will see "relaxed". I think the SheBeest was relaxed fit and the PI's were club fit. You can also just wear regular moisture wicking t-shirts.

I'll second love2pedal, good selection and delivery, and some good sale prices on both their site, and their Amazon store.
As for fit, my wife is close to your size, and the 2x mens Suarez Jersey I bought myself fits her quite well(I made the mistake of thinking that I could wear a 2x Jersey because I wear a 2x shirt). The Suarez jerseys I have run small, the Primal Jersey I have is a little closer to correct, and the PI is a little small as well.

Where is OP located? If in So Cal..LA or Orange County...she might want to check out The Unlikely Cyclist in Costa Mesa. It is a women's cycling shop/boutique that carries several lines of cycling clothing for women of all sizes and shapes

https://theunlikelycyclist.com/

she can find the store and ask questions of Lisa (Vntgdrms) on Facebook too

https://www.facebook.com/TheUnlikely...ref=ts&fref=ts

honestly...even if NOT in the area I recommend OP getting in touch with Lisa as she is fantastic about finding clothing to fit someone even w/o meeting them in person...just ask PhotoJoe who bought his wife some stuff and Lisa used his description to pick stuff out and from what I heard she loved the stuff.

1. As a general rule, size up.

2. Look for things marked relaxed fit. Terry has both relaxed fit jerseys, which I like even when small, and plus size jerseys. Here is a search for relaxed fit jersey's on Team Estrogen: https://www.teamestrogen.com/product/...1.html?noidx=1 I find the Canari and Terry relaxed fit jersey's pretty relaxed and fit me close to true to size.
