Rough day yesterday. Just for kicks am attempting to cycle a minimum of 100km a day for the month of May. Yesterday had a one day work trip out of town, which meant I had to get up extra early to get some miles in before hitting the airport in the morning, then get the rest of my miles in the evening. On top of that my workhorse road bike is in the shop getting fixed so am using the heavier cross bike. Squeezed out 63 miles (101 km) in the dark.

Mileage for May so far is 1,574 miles with 53k ft of climbing.

Currently sitting in 16th place on the Strava May Massive challenge.

Tis a lot of miles you have there....
Both Strava challenges are tough. The May Massive leader is at 3,812 Km in 32 rides. I know I don't have the time to ride an average of 75 miles a day.

Got into a fight with my bike yesterday morning. I went to top off my tires before my ride and the pump refused to release from the valve when I was done. I had to brute force it off and of course I managed to bang myself up in the process. I have a lovely bruise on my wrist to show for it. Oh, and I tore the valve stem out of the tube. So I called it a loss for the day and quit before I really got hurt. Few things make me feel so stupid as tangling with inanimate objects, and losing.
Had a lovely ride today.

Makes me happy Clyde's are representing on the Strava Challenge. I know I am envious! Congrats. Hopefully by the July one Ill be in better shape right now I can't recover fast enough to put out that those kind of miles. I do enjoy hearing about it as it gives me something to strive for and carries more weight for me then just an unknown rider on a leaderboard doing it. I am currently a bit behind pace for the 1000km badge at current pace looking about 900km for may, maybe I can use this post to inspiration to dig deep for those last 100km.

Congrats, and Good Job!

I started out at about 305 a couple years ago. I dropped down to about 275 within 6 months...and stayed there for over a year. I was riding about 200-250 miles a month, and watched what I ate, and the weight simply wouldn't come off. I decided to change things up...I cut back on the riding, focused on hiking (pretty steep hills - 2,000'+ in 2.5 miles) on the weekends, and changed my eating habits. I started losing weight again, and am down another 16lb in the past few months.
