It's amazing how much louder the go pro on your handlebars is... you can really hear the drive train noise.

Your sound with GoPro on bars is better than mine. My drivetrain sounds awful in my small/big combo when climbing.

I believe the first sound on the bars in this video is rather loud from my drive train. As an experiment, I put a less expensive cog set to see how it would work and wear on my bike. Wearing well, shifts OK but a couple of cogs are loud. I have to keep the chain lubed and I should have cleaned and lubed the chain before this weekend's rides.

I will go back to Shimano cassettes on the next one. I forgot the brand of this one but it's some $30 special that a bud sent the link when it was on sale.

I'm pretty confident I have the quietest drive train of anybody I know right now... and SRAM is supposed to be loud enough to wake the dead.

Actually, the drive train sound isn't over bearing or anything, it's just interesting that moving the camera down a foot or two and attaching it to the bars makes that much difference. I wonder if you put a little layer of rubber under the mount if it would make a difference. You can still hear your voice very clearly over the background noise with either mount.

My bar mount puts the camera further forward and lower than Beamz camera appears to be. Mine picks up lots of drive train noise and little voice stuff depending on wind, ride speed and road surface

I am actually using the roll bar mount that has a rubber strip where as the hb mount doesn't from what I've read and recall. But maybe I should add another strip to see if it helps.
